I thought maybe I just hadn't read the description carefully enough, but it really is advertised as 100% cotton. This label is more than a little confusing as well. 100 +75+25 doesn't add up to 100.
I suspect because of the polyester they're also thinner than I expected. My guess is that they won't be very durable. But I needed them and they're comfortable enough that I won't be returning them.
