E: I work from home mostly. I keep wearing these with my work appropriate tops - they're a bit big (I'll order the small next time), not the length, pockets, and fabric are great. They keep my thighs from rubbing, and they're so comfy.

Diane: These shorts are very comfortable and easy to wear. I was a little hesitant ordering these after reading some reviews but for the price I took a chance and am very happy that I did. They did fit nicer after washing (as some reviewers stated they shrink a little). They have become my 'go-to' pair of shorts to wear when walking the dog or just hanging out at home because they are so comfortable. I do wear them out and about when running errands as well. The side pockets are deep enough that you can carry your cell phone without having to worry about it falling out. They come out of the wash ready to wear so no need to worry about wrinkles or ironing.

Ember: I bought 2 pairs of these shorts in gray to fit my solid 18 sizeish petite form and they were my constant go to for most of the year in the pnw. They were definitely a bit big even for my size but they still worked as good housework shorts. A couple years later I finally decided to get another pair during a good hot summer (because I'm a mama who rarely buys something for them selves) and in black. I bought them one size smaller than what I'd normally consider a safe bet but they turned out to be the absolute best fit. I want to buy more! These shorts are very comfortable and pretty forgiving size wise. The latest shorts I bought that fit well can be worn with a casual blouse. For the price I highly recommend these.

Sonogirl: First let me say that I like tighter shorts. I really like bike shorts but they are all sooo high waisted and I can't do high waisted. So for these shorts I did the "try before you buy" and thank goodness that I did! I am 5'5" and weigh 190-200 lbs and generally wear a size XL so that's what I ordered first. I sent those back because they were too large for me. I reordered in Large and they were better but after wearing them for several hours they stretched out and became quite loose. Not so much that I can't wear them just looser than I like. They are a little saggy in the butt and the legs looked like "bells". So I have kept those but also ordered a Medium on the "try before you buy" and they were a tiny bit tight but again after wearing them for an hour or so they stretched out nicely. The description here says 100% cotton but they definitely have some stretch to them. I measured my waist and hips and purchased accordingly and for my measurements the medium just never should have fit-but they did. So my advice is to go down a size.

MEB: I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice these Hanes Women's Jersey Pocket Shorts turned out to be!

I like the length (not too short, not too long);
I like that they're neither tight nor baggy (i.e., not sleazy; not slovenly);
I like the feel of the fabric (100% cotton is *always* a joy);
I like the pockets;
I like the style/width/weave of the cotton drawstring, which you can use to tighten or loosen the waistband as needed.

Following suggestions from other reviewers, I ordered a size medium, even though I can wear anything from a size 4 to an 8 for shorts/pants, depending on the manufacturer. The medium turned out to be ideal, particularly since I can tighten them a tad with that drawstring!

Unless you have a flip-phone, don't expect to slip your phone securely into the pockets, as they're not especially deep. But, they are totally fine for stashing a kleenex, your keys, your fitness club pass--that sort of thing.

I *definitely* recommend these shorts, especially for such a reasonable price for decent quality!
P.S. Remember, these are 100% cotton, so be smart: Wash them in cool to cold water, and either machine dry on low setting or...
