It's been running now non-stop for 2 years (bought Sept 2018, installed Oct 2018) in a welding shop at full settings. Still works great, no issues, we blow it out once every couple of months to make sure nothing is settling in the fan unit. But works great. If you bought this for home use and take somewhat care of it you're good to go. Went with the 8" for a massive space (> 10,000 ft3) so if you're doing a small grow room the 8" will be huge. The ducting is a little chinsey, but if you need something more rugged or rigid purchase some tin ducting and hard duct your exhaust. The stuff that comes with it is easily patched with tin tape.

Jay: Not bad for noise. Just have heard a few more quiet ones but not at this price range .. 1 month and no issues

KC: I have a 2x4x6 grow tent and it works like a charm. It was getting pretty loud in my house from the smell of my herbs but this fan solved it. I do have 3 complaints about the fan but they aren't enough to dock a star. My biggest complaint is the lack of a speed control. Doesn't cost but a dollar to add that in. Second is the length of the cord but I have a phlizon light with an outlet on the back so it worked out. Third is the ducting was a very snug fit on the filter. Good part is I didn't need a hose clamp.
All in all it was a good buy. Its not too loud and actually works good if you like airflow at night while you sleep. It's actually about as loud as my hepa filter on high just to give you a little idea. I also wish it wasn't as bulky so I could use it as a fart fan in my dook hut

Ryan T: Fan isn't as loud as I expected (I run at about 75% on a speed controller). Ducting was more then enough for what I needed. Carbon filter itself feels well built, sturdy and does its job. Exhausted air is scrubbed well without any trace odour. I'm late into vegetative growth and there is a very skunky smell within the tent with nothing coming through the external wall outside. Hopefully it's as effective through flowering. The included pre-filter fits snuggly

Ohblahhhh: Works great. Works for 2x4x5 tent very effectively, could even be used for something even bigger and still work just as fine depending how your wanting to set up.
Carbon filter even after a year old still runs like it’s brand new, I can still smell that fresh carbon scrubbed air.
Longer ducting and directing the ducting out will eliminate some of the noise, covering or hiding the inline fan will get rid of further noise.
I bought a fan controller to slow the fan down and I don’t usually run the fan any faster then 1/2 speed, or even usually I’ll run it lower.
After a year of having the fan and filter and seeing reviews this held up and works amazing and I hope to get many more years out of the fan & filter.

Alan: Received this set up on time and it was packaged well. The Fan, Filter and 4" flex hose and clamps appear to be good quality. The fan is just a little louder than a window air conditioning unit when running. There is no rattling of any kind with this running. The problem is that the filter inlet is too large for the flange on the fan and the single clamp does not tighten down enough to clamp them together with a good seal. I wrapped electrical tape around the flange of the fan to build it up until it was fairly tight with the filter pushed over it and then clamped it and it is okay, but not like it should be. This is rather a heavy set up with fan and filter. The mounting bracket on the fan is heavy duty so no issues there. I used zip ties to fasten it up and also used an adjustable rope around the filter to support it. I would think this should last a while.

Shain: I had originally planned to use it in a 4x4x7 tent but quickly realized it was too big for that so I just placed it in the room. I have been using it for about a month now with no problems. I am not using a speed control and the air is not vented out. My room is 13w x 18L x 8h 1872cf with various stages of ladies. The smell use to be so bad in the whole house but now you can't smell anything at all. Even inside the room, you need to be standing next to the ladies before you smell them. The fan seems to be working great as well. No problems to report with it. It is a little loud if you are in the room but I honestly can't hear it in the next room with the TV on low volume. The prefilter is good quality. I just throw it in the wash and air dry every 2 weeks. Overall I am very happy and impressed!

DocCox: So I'm a couple months into this kit, so I can't determine the long term reliability of the fan...but have enough experience to share some ups and downs.
First off - if your considering this 8" vs anything smaller ALWAYS get the bigger kit. There is a huge reduction in noise, and a potentiometer or fan controller should be used so you can turn this fan down to meet your needs.
The filter is visually very nice, and rather large. The fit to the 8" ducting was a 2 person press fit, so tight you might not even have to clamp it. The downside is, it's almost exhausted and will need replacement next month. Slightly more expensive models lasted over 10 month, so it's a little disappointing.
The fan appears to be the best part of the kit - it's slightly more audible than some name brand counterparts and I'm 99% sure the anti rust China coating probably gunked up the bearings so it's a definite - disassemble and degrease then oil - affair I wish I would have done before putting this in a production environment (mines taped so I don't know if you even can do this). There is moderate levels of air leakage in the center crease, so have quality tape and seal it a couple...
