After all, is nothing better than checking the real thing in hand. This product is exactly this "seeing is believing".　”One picture is worth a thousand words" is not good enough.
I've had several props for slicing boiled eggs evenly in the past, but this time I actually bought a prop that divides it into six equal parts.
However, this product has a strong wire, so I removed the hard strawberry just purchased today and tried to split it vertically. It was sharp and clean. This product was the first product that could completely split strawberries vertically, even if the egg had been cut with some equipment. sugarmag424: My egg slicer arrived just as I was about to make a large batch of potato salad for a family party so it immediately got a heavy workout. The item is sturdy and easy to use. Pieces of egg get stuck between the wires but no more than any other egg slicers I have had. I especially like that I can slice and quarter eggs with the same device.

imf54: This egg slicer makes slices or wedges cleanly and precisely. So far I’ve only used it on eggs, so I can’t comment on how it does mushrooms or strawberries. I’m very pleased with it. My old one fell apart.

Rudolf R.: I broke a couple of strings on my old egg slicer and I have been looking for a replacement for longer than a year. I found the egg slicer while looking for other stuff on Amazon. It was at a good price, so I decided to order it. The slicer arrived, well packed, to prevent shipping damage. the unit itself is designed to either slice eggs or cut wedges. i tried both and bot worked well. Can recommend the slicer to anyone considering purchasing one. it beats the slicing with a knife by a long shot.

seafan: It's an egg slicer and it slices eggs, so why was I so reluctant to purchase this one. Well, I had my previous egg slicer 25 years. It was small and sturdy and got the job done - and fit in my drawer in its perfect little corner. I dropped it a few weeks ago and it finally broke. We eat salads a lot, so boiled eggs are a staple in our household. I was hesitant to purchase a longer thus larger slicer that would take up more room in my crowded kitchen drawer. Yes, I was stuck in my kitchen pattern/tradition resistant to change.....and over a simple egg slicer! However, this little guy surprised me. It's slimmer than it looks, yet can handle large eggs. Also, the slicer part has 2 indentions that allow you to rotate the egg and slice at 2 angles - a feature my original slicer did not have. Not thinking I would need the wedge slicer, it surprised me, too. You see, I like switching up my dogs' treats, and they love boiled eggs. Now I can slice an egg - get 6 wedges (treats) to use as rewards for our behavior practice. I feel better about my dogs getting wholesome egg wedges instead of boxed treats. A word of caution - the wires are thinner than my last slicer, but this means they slice...

I've never used an egg slicer before, so bought this model because it was so cheap. Figured I could pass it on if I didn't like it. It does what it's supposed to- slices eggs neatly and quickly. I have also used it for mushrooms. I was disappointed that I haven't had luck with strawberries though. I tried doing a big, firm berry but stopped because the wires wouldn't go through; instead, the top section popped off the bottom. I put it back together and tried a small, soft berry which just got all mashed up. I will soon be buying a sturdier slicer with metal blades that will do it all. To be fair, this is advertised as an egg slicer only. And it works well for that. It's dishwasher safe and easy to use.
