CNS: I was reluctant to purchase a used book, but glad I did. The book I received is like new. The drawings are beautiful. I can’t wait to start coloring the beautiful pages.

CMF: The pictures are very nice, though the coloured outlines are a little strange. However, the paper is incredibly thin and cheap and the coloured illustrations show through onto the images printed to colour in. Better paper would make this book truly wonderful.

Noelle F. Carle: On every page of this coloring book, there is a gorgeous watercolor by Marjolein Bastin, which is actually fine enough to frame. My efforts to mimic her work always fail, but it's relaxing and mesmerizing to try! Well worth the cost for the prints alone.

EstherEsther: The media could not be loaded.  El libro es realmente muy hermoso. Ilustraciones preciosas de la naturaleza que me quedo sin palabras para expresar lo bonitas que son. Con el libro abierto tienes a la izquierda la imagen coloreada y a la derecha la imagen para que tú la colorees. Personalmente esto me ha gustado mucho ya que me da una referencia de como colorear y luego puedo pintarla como es o hacerla como yo quiera. Resaltaría que es un poco difícil conseguir el mismo resultado que el original porque la página que tienes para colorear es la ilustración del arte solo con líneas finas. Las líneas son de colores, cada página tiene las líneas de un color distinto que creo va un poco en acorde a los colores de la ilustración, por lo que hay páginas con líneas amarillas, otras verdes, marrones, lilas, etc....
El libro en general lo encuentro de buena calidad. Tapa blanda, con encuadernación cosida. Las medidas son 18.3 x 24.1cm lo que hace que no sea ni grande ni pequeño. Es como un libro de sketchbook. El papel es de calidad media, me hubiera gustado que fuera de mejor calidad ya que limita el material a utilizar si no quieres estropear el dibujo de atrás de...

westlady: I am actually torn between 4 and 5 stars on this, because the line art is on the front of a page with art on it. I went with 5 stars because I love Marjolein Bastin's art, and would like to learn how to use some of her techniques. If I bought the cards or prints, it would cost a lot more than the coloring book, so basically I bought 2 coloring books. One I can save just for the art, and the other one I can color! It's still a good deal financially.

Sometimes I feel the lines are too dark for the coloring guide, but if you copy the pages on a slightly lighter setting, you will be fine. Plus, you can try each page several times. If you do this, just make sure to use heavy stock paper.

I'd also love to see perforations on the pages so they can be removed from the book, But the best thing of all would be to NOTNOTNOT have the guideline page with a drawing to color on the other side. No matter what you do to prevent the art on the back being damaged by pressing dark colors hard, it will happen. So basically you have to get 2 books if you want to keep the reference art perfect.

This is a beautiful book of designs based on artwork by Marjolein Bastin. The book is published by Posh (who also publish the Thomas Kinkade coloring books) and this one follows the same format as the Kinkade, that is, a line drawing to the right and a matte color photo of the design to the left. The size of the book is the same (smaller than most coloring books) as is the texture of the paper. What is different is that the line drawings are in a variety of colors from yellow to green to blue to purple and more. Each design is done in a single color. The line work is delicately done and somewhat difficult to see and the colored lines do not seem to show through when I am coloring in the book.

I have loved Marjolein Bastin's artwork for years. I buy her calendars, gift cards, and other household decorated items. I have loved cross stitching her designs, many of which seem to be represented in this book. It is a real thrill to be able to color designs based...
