Gooby Simple Step-In Harness, Version III

g.nuggs: My dog has an enlarged heart and it pushes on his trachea and his previous ruffwear harness, if he pulled too hard (he likes to run at crows but his leash only goes so far), would always cause him to cough. If he pulled unexpectedly and hard, it would leave him coughing for days. This has really helped a lot when he unexpectedly runs at a crow and gets to the end of his leash. He hasn’t had it push on his trachea since then. He hasn’t ever wiggled out of his harness either as it tightens as they pull. He has wiggled out of his ruffwear harness plenty.

I ended up buying a second one to put in the car for when we go places and decide to walk around. He has a separate car harness that’s not ideal for walking around in but great for keeping him secure in the car.

richard bruckner: My puppy was choking herself on the other harnesses this harness stops her at her shoulder blades not her throat. And she can’t back out of it.
I’ve read others reviews. This harness does not stretch like they are saying. But when the dog is not pulling it loosens up, so there is no strain on the dog. It works wonderful. It is not a harness to wear around the house. It is a harness for walking.

Amazoner: Overall nice design and quality, however due to the tall straps where the leash connects, if you disconnect the leash and wish for your dog to just wear his harness, it doesn't work and the whole harness becomes loose and slides down. It's a flawed design and only works with leash attached.

Just another nerd: Pros:
- I feel this much more comfortable on the dog especially if they like to dash and you accidentally pull back

Cons:
- Takes some adjustment in putting on as it's not your traditional way
- We tend to have to remove the whole thing indoors because the strap that connects to the leash is long enough and flaps around

Chloe92us: If you’re someone who likes to use the harness just for walks a couple times a day, this a good option. It’s very easy to put on and take off, it’s durable, well made, seems comfortable for the dogs, although the chest strap hits higher on the chest than the comfort X does- it doesn’t seem to put pressure on that area which is good, and is secure. I prefer to keep the harness on because we have a puppy too and we’re in and out very quickly and many times per day. My biggest complaint is how the two buckle straps have excess length and bounce around when not attached to a leash. It somehow seems too big though I couldn’t size down or the chest/leg opening would be too small. I LOVE the Gooby Comfort X line though, and will stick with that since I prefer to keep their harnesses on most of the time.

Lisa Gardiner: Bought this for my mom's dog who escapes from his other harnesses and I find this one works well. Easy to put on, helps with pulling as gets snug on the dog when he pulls and he can't back out of it and escape!

Amazon Customer: The colour and build of the harness is good but it didn’t fit my 17lb shihpoo. I ordered a small as usually that’s what he wears. It did fit my daughter’s tea cup chihuahua wow is 5lbs and usually wears a xxs or xs.

The other problem with the harness is the plastic double claps are too think so the clip on his leash couldn’t hold both. Had to use a twist tie to hold together.

ioAA30: This harness was easy to adjust properly. Very easy for my 10lb daisy dog to step into. I had spent upwards of $100 on various harness that did not adjust correctly for my dog. I finally found the Gooby brand & promptly bought 3 at the reasonable price

D. M. Wittig: I bought this for my 7.5lb chihuahua. I followed the measuring instructions and she is 14 inches. Based on that I went with size XS which accommodates up to 14.75” and it was just too tight even at the biggest adjustment. Size S was a better fit - adjusted as small as I could make it. I purchased this because it is very similar to a European brand that I love - for its ease of use and security (escape proof) but it was A LOT less expensive! The only thing I don’t like is that the plastic clips that you attach a leash to are so thick that the leashes I have for my dog will not accommodate them- so I need to purchase a leash with a larger clasp to use with this harness. All in all it is a good buy.
