Greg O.: I am reviewing the 8mm static rope. It’s good static rope for hauling gear.

You should not use static rope for lead climbing or top roping. I would not use this static rope for tree climbing either.

I have purchased other cheap ropes online, and other ropes that I purchased tend to bunch or twist easily. This does not bunch or twist. I can tie knots in it, and they feel secure when properly dressed.

I used to use this with pulleys to hoist and suspend a heavy (maybe 100lb) cargo bike from my garage ceiling at my old condo where i had a very high ceiling in my garage and little space. I now use it mostly to hoist equipment up to my roof from a balcony when i clean my gutters. I do not use it to secure myself on my roof— i use a 9.5mm dynamic climbing rope for that. But this one is good for hoisting my battery shop vac or leaf blower up to the roof.

Again, it keeps its shape, it coils pretty easily, it does not twist or bunch. It’s quality rope for its size and for static, non-human loads.

CodyCody: This rope is legit, look up the rating/certification yourself, I did. It's good. It works perfectly for rope mods to replace the straps/buckles the sticks come with. You save 5 ounces total over the buckles and straps. Not much but it's a little. More importantly its quieter and easier and faster and you can climb bigger trees now. Definitely worth doing for sure.

Tdawg: Works great with friction knots on my 10.5mm static rope. I put 4 turns on my prussik knot and it bites readily, and slides easily when relieved of tension

Francisco: I was wanting to buy a rope to enter into climbing as a hobby. I only had an 8 figure rappel device and 3 carabiners, so I had to buy a rope. I also buy a tubular webbing at the same time from the same brand to improvise a harness, great tubular webbing by the way. Before trying to climb anything, I preferred to first learn how to rappel and at the same time test my gear. So I attached the rope to a 3 m pole outside of my house with a normal clove hitch. I tried to first support my weight (I'm a 168 lb male) over the ground with the 8 figure but impossible to, the rope doesn't bite the 8 figure, it was like trying to use a pulley to rappel, nearly impossible, it doesn't matter how hard I handle the rope it will just slide right thru the 8 figure, letting me go down like a breakless elevator. I then try a three climbing method with Blake knots, the knot was tied correctly but or it was tie too hard making it impossible to slide across the rope or too loose not bitting on the rope. So I'm disappointed because I can only use it as a normal rope and not a climbing rope for instance. I'm thinking of buying an ATC rappelling device to see if it bites the rope making it useful. "peter64457": Was not sure what to expect from an 8mm chord. Was planning to just use if for my foot ascender but I would feel safe using this for life support. Works well as a blake and prusik hitch as well. Grabs my 12mm climbing rope well and easy to do a controlled descent.

Danni: Does the job, probably wouldn’t go abseiling with it, but it’s definitely sturdy enough for basic work. I used it to tie some ladders off whilst doing some roofing, and it was just the job.

CarlOz: What can I say. It's proper climbing rope, supple and strong, albeit accessory cord not meant for personal safety harnesses. Assuming it's not a (convincing) countefeit (you never know with Amazon) and it's up to the stated spec, then this stuff should be good for dangling person-sized accessories from rock faces all day long. Or towing cars out of ditches, which is what I bought it for.
