Deanna: We ordered the Small (7/8) for my 7 year old, who usually wears a 7/8. Reading the other comments that everything fit larger and to order a size up, we had hoped this would have been ok. BUT when it arrived, it was tiny, I would say closer to a 4T based on how it fit our 3 year old. Sent it back and ordered a medium and while a little big, it has enough room to grow.

Only caution I would recommend is be prepared to exchange if necessary as sizing seems to be inconsistent, which with it being carhart really surprised me.

Lynne Hoffman: The color is bright and beautiful and the fit is perfect. My daughter just turned 9 so I ordered the M (10/12). It's a bit big in the sleeves and around, but not too bad. I think she'll probably get 3 years wear out of this coat. And it's made well so it'll be passed down to younger cousins when she outgrows it. With it being a bit bulky around, it works for cold Michigan winters where snow pants and heavy sweatshirts go underneath when heading outside to play or do barn chores. Still nice enough for school or everyday wear, too. Very happy with this purchase.

Ally EAlly E: This coat is great!! I bought a size up to try and have it work next year also. $60 for a coat, for a TODDLER, is crazy but I wanted to make sure my child was warm. She loves it and even though it’s a size too big, it doesn’t affect her movement and she is able to move rather than some coats that hinder movement. I got pink to make sure I could identify her in a crowd, and this coat is BRIGHT, highlighter pink so it is exactly what I wanted. She is wearing shorts bc I just got this in the mail and wanted to try it on her, lol. She is 36 in tall, 32 lbs, and is typically in a 3T bc she is so long.

D. Bradley: I got this for my daughter when she damaged her cheap wally world coat by simply leaning against a tree. Who knew kids where so rough as to destroy coats by leaning? Anyway, it was her 3 or 4th jacket, and we hat the winter "arctic vortex" thingy in oklahoma, temps dropped below zero. She only had the one coat with a giant hole in it. So, I ordered this little coat.

Despite being amazon prime, this jacket arrived about 2 days late. I guess the whole world decided to order their christmas stuff online about the same time I ordered this jacket... Even the news picked up this story. Well, I don't blame amazon, UPS, I blame that dang tree for damaging the other jacket at such an inconveinent time.

Well, on to the carhartt coat.

Yeah, this thing is great. It's heavy enough to feel like it can withstand some serious abuse, while being light enough that my sweet little girl can romp around in it without being dragged down. It's not as heavy as the standard "duck" carhartts, but it's really good.
