Johnny QuickJohnny Quick: Bought this for a project a couple years ago that didn’t happen, so I just held onto it. Took down the trampoline and the webbing was still in good shape. Got out this kit and put a grommet on each corner. Tested the strength and they stayed together very well. Going to hang it up tomorrow over the chicken coop for some extra shade. Great product, easy to use and works just like I wanted it to.

Make sure you click on and order the item you wish to purchase.

This is a complete kit and comes with two hole punches, a hardwood backer block, a 2-sided anvil, a mandrel, and 2 punch heads.

It is a good-quality kit from General Tool and is suitable for general repairs by do-it-yourselfers. The hole punches, the mandrel and the punch heads are all made of heavy steel. It comes with six 3/8” grommets and six 1/2” brass grommets.

I’ve used this kit to install a half-dozen grommets on the heavy-duty cover of my portable garage. The hole punches easily went through the double layers of 16 mil tarp and the grommets would work well even if I was using them on thicker material. Handy kit to have for general repairs.

A. Nickels: Once I figured out how to use it, it worked great for the price. I used to to put new grommets in a few golf towels. The product does not come with instruction. The video on Amazon for the product does not show how to use it and I could not find any instructions anywhere online. I was however able to use a few generic youtube videos to figure out how to use the tool. I'd have given it 5 stars if there were instructions.

Brad: Good little set for small crafts, I bought it to pur grommets on flags to hang inside my house, works great. One thing I wasn't happy with was the lubricant they use to keep the metal pounder pieces from rusting stained a white cloth brown where I set it down. Could easily use a non coloured oil based product to keep from rusting. Just beware where you set it down when you buy it until you wipe it clean. I guess I will also mention I thought they would be sharper for piercing the material, it worked but took a few heavy pounds with a hammer to get through. As well no instructions, go to YouTube to see how to use it if you are unsure.

SARA R. WELSHSARA R. WELSH: First, if you order kit you will also need a hammer, a poly mallet (hammer), a poly (cutting) board and a ruler. A sturdy work surface (not your kitchen counter top!) Is highly recommended.

If you have never used a grommet setter, I recommend you find a video on how to use the set.

For the money, it is a great little set. The tools are new with oil from the factory still on them. If you are using them for fabric or raw leather, I recommend cleaning the oil off them to prevent staining materials.

I would not use the little wooden block that comes with the set, I would use a poly board or plastic cutting board. Only reason I would not use the wooden block is because it is small and if it is not exactly centered under your item, you may have issues cutting your materials and setting your grommets.

The metal hole punch is sharp on one end-the slightly tapered end. That is the end you should use to cut your material. I would have liked to have seen a handle for the punch, however the punch did cut through cleanly. Make sure you use a poly mallet ( or even a wooden mallet) and not a metal hammer when hitting the hole punch to prevent damage to the...

Al T: It is said in the product description how many of each size is included in the pack. I just read the counts in the product description after I got the kit (couldn't believe it so read it this time to double check for any mistake!). This is on me but, come on guys! How much each of these gormmets costs? 1 cent (even)? Put some more in the kit. A rooki like me will destroy half of them just learning how to do it right for the first time, let alone doing my light project lol!

Apart from this disappointment, the tools looks like a real deal and you feel it as soon as you hold them in hand. The whole kit's box looks cool. Reminds me of how things used to be built and packed once upon a time. You see the respect in the design!

I'll update this review as soon as I'm done with my project.
