Edgar: It’s convenient to have if you have a defective switch on your device that still turns on but won’t stay on,so either you spend and buy a new device or by a switch which I did and I still saved from spending for a new device, pretty convenient.

Westerner: I needed something like this and figured someone probably made them, and sure enough, here they are on Amazon. These are very compact and don't hog the outlet space or stick out too far. Just plug in your switchless appliance or whatever, and flip the little switch. Works great.

Jayhawk_34: I liked my first purchase so much I bought another. I was looking for a switch to turn off a bulb on an extension cord in the other end of my attic. Because it is away from view, the UL safety rating was important to me. This switch is simple but does the job perfectly. I’m now using a second switch to turn on and off holiday lights.

Fragonard: I had a couple of places where I keep power bars. It's more convenient to have a switch like this than to turn the power bar on and off. That way, some units can stay ready while others can toggle on and off, like an external drive or a light switch when I want the power for other things plugged into the bar. I bought one, liked it so well I bought two more.

Carl Keyes: It is just a simple switch. If this is"energy efficient" then every light switch is also efficient so long as people remember to turn the lights off when they leave the room. My incentive for buying these was they were reasonably priced and I needed a number of them that I could install along a power bar to individually control devices whose power switches were inconveniently located at the back in a shelf unit. The switches work well in that they do not take up a lot of space and do not interfere with one another.
