Benjamin FullerBenjamin Fuller: This blade among other Frued blades has the quality that seems unmatched by any others. Most people compare these to "the gold standard" - being a Forrest blade. In my personal opinion, after using both for 10+ years now:

Frued seems to come out on top in cutting quality every time, but keep in mind, I am judging this by the manufacturers statements of exactly each blades intentions on the purpose it was built for. Frued makes this clear, says what types of wood, the type of cut, depth of cut, and even ideal saw HP. When I follow these guidelines, I find that Freud is unmatched. Glue ready, glass-like cuts. Not only that, they seem to even run quietest compared to others, and that's a plus too.

Forrest blades - twice the price, but is it worth it? My experience is that the blades do have amazing quality, yet do not have nearly a descriptive range of what they are intended for. They do say what type of cut, and they also explain the blade is meant to be RAISED HIGHER for ideal cuts. They even come with a full walkthrough of how to eliminate tearout and friction burning. What they do not say is "meant for x type of woods of x height through x height and x HP saws" etc....

joseph a. clark: Why 4 stars? Cause the blade is way too heavy for my machine. I have two Makita 12" slide compounds. Awesome tools. In my 30 yrs. of woodworking I have used many saw blades . This Freud blade does give a superb cut, unquestionably. But when I power up my saw [either one] its increased weight gives a slight and continuous shudder to my Makita with this Freud blade while it was running. I could hear the motor really groaning to get it up to speed. It was obvious that this severe strain on the motor would lead to over heating a motor failure. So, after a few dozen cuts, I removed it. Now, it sets on my shelf as my emergency blade.
Freud makes terrific blades, don't misunderstand. That's why I bought another Freud blade that I give 5 stars to. The Freud LCL129002pm 12" 90 tooth double miter is the cats meow. I have two of these, one on each of my Makita's. Clean cut, very clean, even on a veneer and at a 45 degree angle. [ I still use masking tape on my cuts if I have any doubt there will be tear out, of course. And, I power through the cut ever so delicately, as is proper. ] Oh, and when these blades get dull, you can be sure they won't be given to some local shop who throws any...

farhad frud: I USED 10 INCHES AND WAS GREAT BUT WITH 12 INCHES ,I SHOULD WAIT FOR 3 SECOND TO GET 3800 RPM AND THEN CUT WITH MY DEWALT MITER SAW.I THINK THIS BLADE WITH STRONGER MITER SAW AND MOR RPM WORKS GOOD.I WILL BUY 10 INCHES AGAIN BUT NOT 12 INCHES .
