RyanRyan: I was SOO excited when I ordered this. It arrived today & it's even better than I expected!! Luxury-quality. ULTRA moisturizing in an indulgent, pampering way. It has a slight *smell* but it's very, very mild - no added essential oils/"scents". My beard looks + feels awesome now. Definitely one happy customer :)

Aaron: Absolutely love this beard balm. There's no scent, just a great balm that keeps my beard looking healthy and straight. I get compliments on my beard all the time and how well it's maintained and I give all the credit to Honest Amish. I've been using this product for years and have tried other balms here and there but I keep coming back to this one. It just works so well and doesn't have some attempt at a scent. I don't need my beard smelling like firewood or black licorice. I just want a balm that keeps my beard looking good, and this is exactly what it does. Do not look any further for a beard balm. This is the one you need.

Leon Mc: This stuff is amazing! Half a week into using it and it has transformed my beard and skin. Beard is amazingly soft and skin is so much less dry and irritated. The products is so easy to use nice consistency and has no real fragrance as promised, which I think is great as it doesn't interfere with other fragrance I wear.
Best beard balm I've used by far! Worth the money.

Evan: As other reviewers have mentioned, fragnance free doesn't really mean no scent. There is a fairly strong smell when you first apply the product, but that is probably because of the oils and butters in it. I don't think you can really prevent those smells so its understandable but I'm not the biggest fan of the smell.

The smell goes away pretty quickly but I think this product would work well if you wear a cologne or use it in conjunction with a scented beard oil that you like.

The conditioning properties are fantastic though, my beard feels extremely soft and all my issues with the skin drying out due to winter are gone. I appreciate there being a high quality product without beeswax in it.

TrekSurfer: Let's go over a few things.

Cons:
1. This product is NOT fragrance free. The fragrance is very faint and your girlfriend or wife or anyone else getting close enough to your face will smell it. It does fade over time and by about 3-4 hours or so it's not noticeable.
2. If you order it during the warm/hot months of the year, be careful opening the container. The can isn't sealed by the manufacturer and if it's reached a temperature high enough to cause it to melt, be prepared for some leakage. You're better off leaving the can sitting for a few hours to solidify.
3. The can is very thin, soft aluminum so be careful opening it as you can easily warp the can or the lid making it difficult to close tightly.
4. If you have a course beard this product will do nothing to actually soften your beard. Those claiming it does must have a peach fuzz beard. It does make your beard "feel" smoother but I feel this is more due to being slick rather than soft.
5. Takes a good 3-4 hours to absorb or dry into your beard. If your beard touches your shirt it will leave a mark over the day but it does come out in the wash. I've reduced the amount I use and it still takes the same...

Stu: Not a strong hold but helps keep the hairs in place while feeling soft and groomed. It has a nice faint glisten that makes my beard have a polished look. It's labeled as unscented but it does have a mild scent. Kind of a wax or maybe hair product scent. You can smell it in the tin and while applying but overall it doesn't seem to be strong enough to notice while I'm wearing it.

Dix: EDIT: Okay, so it turns out this might actually be my favourite. I now no longer think of this as balm - but just as a thicker delivery method for beard oil. It immediately turns to oil in my hands, and if I apply it by itself, it's brilliant. Also, it works a bit better on shorter beards I think. I had a longer beard where I was using a bit of oil, then a balm. Can't do it with this, because then it's just oil first, and oil second. With a shorter beard (think guard #6 or shorter), there's no need for the two-step. Just this, and life is good. Some wax on the 'stache to hold that in place.

Original review: Not my favourite. For me at least, this is an extremely oily balm product. I have some other balms in my rotation that have similar consistency, but this one seems to leave a slick on my beard, my face, my hands. It for some reason just doesn't absorb.

I suspect, based on other's experiences, that I'm an anomaly here. I also wonder if the "heavy duty" may have been a better choice for me...
