Ben K: Used this to rope several trees. I would guess I've gotten this 35' up in some cases to rope pretty high on some big trees.

The only issues I had were user errors (me), throwing it over branches that have a little too much angle-upward, which can make it hard to pull a rope through. But the bag/line here are fantastic for roping trees.

Brent - Normal Shopper: I purchased this because I have a few limbs that are close to my house that I needed to remove. There is one particular one that is touching my roof. Squirrels are using it to gain access to my gutters in order to make a nest. I didn't want to pay a few hundred dollars to have a tree company come out and cut them down. I purchased this and a rope saw.

So far, I have removed all the limbs that I needed to. Each limb has been at least 25' feet or more off the ground. This kit has not had any trouble reaching those heights. Basically, I stand below the tree and start spinning it vertically and let it fly.

Due to the slick rope, it is practically impossible to get hung up. If anything gets stuck it is due to the ring on the bag. if that happens, I just let out slack so it will fall and then try again.

My only complaint is the spool that holds the string. I wish it were a little larger. It looks fine when you first purchase. After unraveling and then re-spooling the rope sticks out past the walls of the spool.

Richard M.: I was really impressed because I was able to bring down three monster trees after throwing the weight with the string attached from the top of my cabin roof, then attaching the rope to the string and wrapping the rope around the tree from the ground.
The only problem I had was the arborist string balling up and getting all tangled. Ended up cutting a big chunk out, which is not ideal, but still worked.
Instead of paying 2,000 dollars to a tree service, for the price of this plus a couple of 100 foot ropes for ten bucks each, it was certainly worth it.
Like my title says, maybe there’s some trick to making the string not getting all balled up, but what that is I don’t know.
