The Wald 582 Folding Rear Bicycle Basket is the perfect choice for those looking for a bike basket that is easy to install, stylish, and space-saving. This basket mounts unobtrusively on the side of a rear bicycle rack, making it simple to use. It also comes in three different colors - silver, black, and white - so you can choose the one that best fits your style. The compact design makes it easy to store when not in use, making it an ideal choice for those looking for convenience and style.NottsdazNottsdaz: I bought these because I have a folding bike and needed a basket/bag that would also fold. I have tried them and they work great, I can fold my bike with no problems. They are also very handy for just dropping your shopping or work bags etc into with no fuss. Unfortunately, the fixings they supply are rubbish. They are not big enough to fit around my rack and the baskets, despite having "bigger and updated fixings" I ended up ditching the brackets and used plastic cable ties instead, which I have found to be strong enough. The manufacturer should be looking at supplying a much easier way to attach them to any rack by now.

I got these for my bicycle and my main purpose was for grocery shopping around campus. I initially bought one but ended up needing two and bought another for more capacity but also for more balance, as just having one is unstable for my bike.
The issues others complained of were actually non-existent for me. Other reviewers complained of the hardware being useless and taking their advice I went ahead and bought some hardware to mount it, but it so happens I didn't need it. The hardware provided was good enough for me, as Wald now provides two sizes of clamps with the product. The larger ones is what I needed for my thick rack, and worked great! It took a while to figure out how to mount it, and even longer to start getting used to the clamp that secures the basket when not in use, but I just gave it a while and meanwhile found creative way to keep it together (like using some old hairbands) and it worked great!
Very happy that I can just open up the basket and put items into it and secure it close when not needing it. My main reason for buying these ones were two fold: one that they were on the back of the bicycle and sat lower to the bicycle frame...

NN: Summary: Great folding bicycle basket, that mounts to a rack easily.
The bicycle I mounted this basket to is a Specalized Sirrus, the rack that is attached to the bicycle that this basket is attached to is this rack: Planet Bike Eco Rack Oversized 6061 T6 Aluminum Bike Rack with Pre-installed Hardware (Black) , that rack is fastened to the rack with Precision Brand M4S Micro Seal, Miniature All Stainless Worm Gear Hose Clamp, 7/32" - 5/8" (Pack of 10) .
Context: From mid-Summer 2015 to late fall\ early winter, I was bicycle commuting 15 miles a day (7.5 miles in each direction) on a Specialized Sirrus bicycle. I had been looking at pannier bags but wasn't confident that any set of pannier bags would be versatile enough for my needs, and the lower priced pannier bags seem to lack quality and durability.
Pros:
- Really durable, made of a pretty heavy gauge steel no significant flex on any of the weight bearing places.
- Pirce
- My backpack with 17" HP Laptop fits easily into the basket, with no wiggle room.
- A paper grocery bag would easily fit into this basket.
Cons:
