Starry NightsStarry Nights: This kit was amazing just required a little bit of creativity. For my situation in our utility I had to hang above the entry door. Luckily extended all the way down in the center and all the way up on the sides it fits! I do not recommend hanging it like this but for us it works great to free up floor space. Sturdy enough for pull ups!

Dan: Have you ever installed it like 5 times to get it right? Well it is like that. First you plan where you want it. Then you realize it is shifted by 12 inches because of the centering the posts. Then you try to copy the picture in the instructions, but close to a wall you just can't, you have to reverse the L brackets. It's fine. I wanted mine as short as possible. That's actually with extenders in, I did not realize that. But at the shortest it was actually 20 inches. And my boxes didn't fit. So I put in the extenders. And then I realized they were supposed to be there all along. Which meant I stripped two bolts because the square part to lock them in is in the extension. Finally got it in like I liked it. My head clears it, my boxes clear it. My install is in the right spot. It is solid.
The best advice, measure first and remember 12 inches to either side on length for the bracket. I used a drill and an impact. And a good stud finder with the 7 sensors and shows the whole stud width.

Ryan ByrneRyan Byrne: I've bought 3 of these to go across my garage above my doors when they are open. They are fanastic, easy to install, but does take some time. Can assemble alone, but easier with two. Only additional cost a sheet of plywood cut in half (i painted the bottom side).

David M.David M.: So I wanted to use the space above my garage door... 7ft door under a 9ft ceiling should leave me a couple of inches at their 22" setting right? Wrong. Note in the first pic how the garage door opens above the rails that it rides on and arcs upward needing some clearance. Also note you lose about 2 inches due to depth of support beams AND the plywood that rides on top of those beams (it is not inside them which is my fault for not paying more attention to the pics here). Well if I had backed off the rack 2 ft then I could have lowered a bit more, but then would have trouble accessing the space from either end due to other restrictions in my garage. I still would not have been able to attach to the joists as it was supposed to. I didn't have any other place in the house where I could install this so thought about returning then decided to forgo the mounting metal and put the side brackets further up into the joists and screw them in from the side (it would not fit if using a mount rail on the face edge of the joist). Probably a code violation at that. I wanted to store lots of those plastic bins on the shelf behind it up there which are 15.5 inches tall and now I only have about...

MM: At just over a C note, it’s a deal. Design is simple. Square platform that mounts into the ceiling with 6 arms and brackets. Which is great, because the install directions are not the best. My biggest concern was, would it be wobbly and how to mount into the rafter/joist/truss (the wood holding the roof, ceiling and drywall). Anyway, if put together “correctly”, all bolts and nuts tight, wobble is minimum. Finding the wood center for installation was far more challenging, which brought up other concerns. I used an electric wall stud finder. Which showed ghost studs. I ended up going into the small roof space and measured out the spacing between 2x6’s from the back garage wall. That with the stud finder still made finding centers extremely frustrating. Any review saying this thing was easy to put up, paid someone else to do it. I do Lots of remodels and love DIY projects. Believe me, this was a pain the arse to mount. At one point I googled (as we all do) how to install and how much weight would the garage ceiling hold.
