I got hooked on fennel from eating at Indian Restaurants. There would be a dish with a little scoop by the cash register, sort of like American restaurants have their dish of mints. I started buying my own a few years ago and by sheer luck this was the brand I tried. It tastes as expected. A few weeks ago I tried a different brand because they had a larger container. Yuck! What a weird flavor! More like bug spray than licorice. So out of curiosity I purchased another brand that was organic. Same weird flavor. I had no idea different brands could taste so different. I don't know what is causing the weird taste, whether it's how it's grown or stored or packaged, but this is the only one I'll buy now.

Most importantly the fennel was fresh and of good quality. Also, the price was much better than everywhere I looked. I hope these are still available when needed at the same price and of the same quality.

Seeds were fresh, had a pleasant taste and compared favorably with the more expensive fennel seeds I had been using. I put a small amount in a glass jar and froze the remaining seeds to maintain their freshness.
