Michael A. Barton: The reason you buy this sealant is for peace of mind, period. For every below the waterline thru hull I will only trust this product. It's hard to keep off things you don't want covered, and cleanup is a pain, but well worth it.

josh: You better be certain everything is in the correct spot before you use this. It is super sticky and seals up great. I installed 2 underwater lights and have had no issues.

Clifford Peek: This product is very popular among boaters as it has been tested and proven over the years.

Before ordering, you should be aware that 3M makes this, the 4200, as a sealant that can eventually be removed if needed. They also make 5200 which is intended to bond permanently, as in prepare to be destructive if you need to undo the bond.

So, with that said, think of 4200 as a super high quality marine version of bathroom caulk/adhesive sealant. With that in mind, use it for all leaks and repairs with the knowledge that if you ever have to "undo" anything, you can. And keep the 5200 in mind when you really, really, really want to bond something for life.

4200 is obviously more expensive than traditional bathroom caulks, but you are paying for 3M's years of testing and research, as well as years of testing in the field by boaters around the world. This product has a great, well-earned reputation as a no-nonsense sealant. I bought a tube to fix a leak on the flybridge of my boat, and of course once applied, my leak is no more. Just be sure to clean the area well, with acetone, before applying (as you should with any sealant).

Amazon Customer: sealed a small missing area of gelcoat on bottom of my new to me boat. Used it on the recommendation of manager at marina. sealed area very well. have used the boat a lot since application and has not come loose

JeMo: Time will tell. Filled several small holes and one dime sized hole. A few days before I get it to the water.
I did t like that the tube only last 24 hours. Since I couldn’t get it to the water to test for a week. That means another tube if it leaks.
Seems the YouTube community loves it. So remaining optimistic.

Kyle Fraser: The product itself was great, I used it to seal up the bolt holes for the engine on my boat, sealed it no problem, the problem was that the description states it’s a pack of 6 and only received pack of 1, seller told me to return product a week later only after me getting in contact with them a couple of times but obviously I needed the sealant and used it so I could not return since I was going out on the water the next day, will never buy of seller again. Only advice I have is if you do buy from them is make sure you don’t need the product right away in case you have to return
