Extra Strength Clumping Cat Litter with Ever Clean Technology

Marci Aurila: This is an awesome litter. I have 3 cats in an apartment and it works. Really works. Our landlord cannot tell we have cats. (which is great!) Plus, I think the biggest thing is my cats love it. I have tried various other litters over the years, and either I did not like them (I am sensitive to perfumes and strong scents) or the cats did not like it and showed their displeasure in many ways. (ick). Some just did not work as advertised. Yes, it is a clay based litter, so there is some dust, but not much. It clumps well, and really traps odors. I purchase it usually in 2 boxes at a time, but found the 42 lb bag on amazon Prime the last time and love it! Little tough to get up 3 flights of stairs, but I like that it is in one container. I searched locally for this brand, and found it, but a a much higher price. Try it out, you could be really happy you did.

Tiffany Hackathorn: This is the least smelly, dusty, messy litter I've ever used. I forget how nice it is until I scoop a friend's cat box while pet sitting and get choked by the amount of dust stirred up. I can't find Ever Clean at a local pet shop in my current location so I've resorted to ordering it on Amazon. I can't go back to the grocery store variety after using Ever Clean. The extra bonus, my cat doesn't reek of cat litter after she gets done in the box! All around superb stuff! Great clumping, easy scooping and minimal smell/dust!

UPDATE: I purchased a new 42lb bag in Feb. 2014 and am so disappointed. As you may have seen in other reviews, they have changed this litter. It now produces as much dust if not more than cheap grocery store varieties. The unscented now has such a strong scent I can't believe they get away with calling it "unscented" and I get a rash every time I come into contact with my cat after she's been in the litter box. Throwing it out. Crazy expensive for what has become an inferior product. As an fyi, I live in a remote area without access to any pet stores but I did find a grocery store product that has very little dust and no odor. It's called Cats Pride...

So Alli Says: I've never owned a cat before, and I guess I didn't know what I was getting into with the litter box situation. We adopted an 8 week old kitten, and found out a couple weeks later that I was pregnant. I couldn't STAND the smell of her litter! First we used Precious Cat, and that didn't cut down on the smell. Then we switched to Arm & Hammer, and the perfume smell was so disgusting and so overwhelming. But not enough to cover the smell of urine and feces. So it smelled like cat poop and pee that had been doused in perfume. So gross.

I finally did a ton of research and settled on Ever Clean. I didn't want a perfume smell, I didn't want a smell AT ALL. I had even considered giving our kitten to a friend. This litter has allowed us to keep our kitten. I don't smell it at all! We've been using it for a month, and haven't had to change to original litter yet. We add as it gets low, and clean it twice a day. We'll probably change the entire litter box this week, but only because I'm a stickler about germs and disease. If it wasn't for that, the smell would not be an issue.

Gracie: Yes, it's way more expensive than it should be. Yes, it tracks some (but no worse than others and less than a lot others). But, boy, does it clump. All cat output (liquid or solid) turns to rock. So it stays way cleaner than any other I've used because scooping the litter doesn't leave behind little bits that fall back into the box when it crumbles. It doesn't crumble. And there is zero smell. It absorbs all of it. OK, I'd like to use the natural litters, like the one made with wheat (what a disaster with smell and crumbling and mess!!), pine (does nothing but give the cat a place to go since it doesn't absorb liquid or odor), the mechanical litter boxes that does the scooping for you, etc etc. I've had cats all my life as far back as I can remember, and have used every kind of litter that's made. This is the best so far.

But can you reduce the cost? Or, at least, put it on subscription?
