Cindy: What an eye opener. I am of Scots/Irish descendants so loved her story. But most importantly, is her explanation of how we must save our trees, if we care for mother earth and our grandchildren’s’ future, and…… if you enjoy breathing.

Ramos: This book is as interesting and unusual an autobiography as it is an exceptional book about trees. The author’s literary skill and storytelling gift, combined with her deep knowledge make this book as satisfying as it is worthwhile. I can recommend it for both beginners as well as experts in the knowledge of trees.

Nilesgirl: I’d have given 5 stars if she’d just added one more “call to arms” at the end, for her bio plan to reforest the world. Why are there no organizations listed for work in this area? That is an opportunity lost, in my opinion, tho I will do that on my own. At any rate, I bought 3 copies to share after reading the first half of the book.

Amazon Customer: I kinda liked this book as it has a very informal way of passing on information, not unlike having a chat with a very knowledgeable friend. The downside for me was that it was like having a chat with a very knowledgeable friend. This approach can feel pseudoscientific at times, even though it isn’t. Diana walks a very fine line in her way of writing and teaching, but it resonated with me and I think that I would rather like to learn a lot more about her work.
I fully intend to read a couple more of her books

ADREEN ROGERS: This is an education of it's own. It speaks of the common sense values that have past down over the ages but have been se aside over time. Old remedies and that are right under our noses but over looked.
I think it is a book that should be on the reading list of middle school classes.

Christina Schlegel: This is such a rich, mini autobiography recounting Diana's formative years and how they formed the foundation of her work in the natural sciences, rooted firmly in ancient traditions of Ireland. The last portion of the book covers the practical side of the Ogham, something lacking in many of the books that focus solely on the divinatory aspects of the system. This was greatly appreciated by this Druid ;)

MW: What an extraordinary woman & life. I first read about her, fictionalised, in Richard Powers' 'The Overstory' & had to follow her up. A life of service to trees & humans & life full stop. I loved this. So full of story, humanness, treeness & well, wisdom actually, passed down from her Celtic forebears. At times I despair at the loss of wisdom in the world of how we need to live in harmony with everything that lives. This reminds me that it does live on in some who do amazing work in the world.

Sharon McDonald: The information in this book, my love of all of Nature, the Author's name, she may be a relation, and this time in history,
are all factors in my purchasing and reading this book! I was not disappointed!
Knowledge of nature's healing, and the IMPORTANCE of FORESTS for all of life, was shared in this interesting, and informative book! The author is a scientist with a desire to share her accumulated knowledge about the need to wake up and recognize how we are negatively affecting our own world and how to start today to make positive changes.
