Manja Herkner: Für den ersten USA Roadtrip ein guter Ein- und Überblick. Ich bin dennoch froh, dass ich mit "alten Hasen" reisen werde, die all die Tricks und Kniffe vor Ort kennen.

J. LECAPPELAIN:
First off, this book doesn't include the three most recent national parks. I could understand New River Gorge being excluded, but not White Sands and Indiana Dunes.
This book does a lot well. The parks it talks about in depth it does a good job with. What hurts is the parks it barely discusses. Some parks have about a page of content.
I'm a big fan of Lonely Planet books, but this feels one feels rushed and undercooked.

Annie:
Some parks, like the Everglades only have 1 page of info, if you are planning a US Parks trip, you need more than that.
Also, highly annoyed that White Sands National Park was missed off...it was made into a National Park in December 2019, and this edition is March 2021, it mentions Covid - so there is really no excuse for missing off the newest National Park.

silvia: The guide was quite useful as it touches upon most of the national parks I visited in my tour – although not all of them, it's missing those in Navajo-controlled areas such as Antelope canyon and the Monument Valley. It is, however, very synthetic and does not go in depth about the origin/history of any park. It's really just a "bucket list" of things to do, explained quite superficially.
Compared to other lonely planet guides, I was expecting more... It also does not have suggested itineraries, which I really like from lonely planet's books.
