snowflake grammasnowflake gramma: 'Another great coloring book, I am always on the look out for coloring books for me. I find coloring calming , relaxing, it clears my head.
Coloring Elmo, Dora the Explorer & disney princesses just don't do it.
This book has 30 pages to bring these baby animsls to life. There are both domestic animals as well as wild ones. There are also factoids on the animals your coloring at the bottom the the page.
Using markers or paints aren't suggested because these pages are double sided. I like to use Crayola's twistable colored pencils. You can't sharpen them, but I enjoy how smooth they are on paper. And these pages aren't perforated, use care when taking these pages out of the book.The inner front & back covers have a completed glossy picture of one of the animals in this book.
Both these pictures would be cute framed in a child's bedroom or playroom.
Many of these DOVER coloring books are not targeted for the younger coloring enthusiasts. The pictures are very detailed, the lines in these books are also small & thin. Some kids might find coloring these pages fun & challenging, while others will probably just get frustrated.

2nimm: livret anglophone agrafé souple grand format récent (2004) présentant 30 espèces d'animaux accompagnés de leurs petits en n&b prêtes à être coloriés; une espèce est représentée sur chacune des 30 pages; en bas de page, une petite notice explicative; seules 4 images en couleur servant de modèle sur les pages de garde contrairement à d'autres ouvrages de la même collection ce qui est désolant et oblige à consulter des guides ou encyclopédies spécialisées; ce livre de coloriage non exhaustif sera parfait pour l'initiation d'enfants de plus de sept ans suffisamment soigneux et patients pour s'appliquer; je dois reconnaître avoir été favorablement surpris par la qualité de cette publication, ayant été échaudé par plusieurs tentatives précédentes, et je dois dire que j'ai enfin trouvé ce que je cherchais et j'envisage d'acquérir d'autres ouvrages de la même série (taper sur le moteur de recherche d'Amazon: Dover coloring book); je pense qu'il vaut mieux préférer les ouvrages neufs même s'ils sont légèrement plus chers pour éviter le risque de se retrouver avec un exemplaire crayonné!

delicateflower152: Dover's "Baby Animals Coloring Book" is an excellent choice, but not for beginners. The pictures are more detailed than other Dover Coloring Books and might be too complex for little ones to color. The pictures are well drawn and very appealing. Printed on nice quality paper, the pages are not so flimsy that markers will bleed through - unless a child holds the marker in one place for a long period of time.

Each picture has a brief paragraph at the bottom of the page naming the species of baby animal and giving some information about that animal. This is particularly helpful for some of the less familiar baby animals that are included in the coloring book.

Thank goodness for Amazon and Dover Coloring Books! It is almost impossible to find coloring books in the stores that are not devoted to princess-themed or movier spin-offs, so the 4 for 3 promotion available on most Dover Coloring Books is most welcomed. If you are looking for some nice quality coloring books, I urge you to look at Dover's "Baby Animals Coloring Book" and others available on Amazon.
