Micha BDFMicha BDF: Ich war auf der Suche nach einem Camping-Grill, den ich beim Angeln mit den ganzen anderen Sachen mitnehmen kann. Klein, handlich, einfach, haltbar und mindestens 2 Stücke Fleisch müssen darauf passen - das waren die Anforderungen.

Lange gesucht und endlich gefunden: den Espit-Grill!

Wer bei der Bundeswehr war, kennt den kleinen Kocher von Espit, in dem auch gleich das Fach für die Brennpaste ist.

Gleiches Prinzip hier:
Einfach aufklappen und aus der Kohlentasche die Kohle entnehmen. Mega durchdacht - das spart Platz.

Zum Aufbau:
Tasche aufmachen, Grill entnehmen und auseinander klappen, Grillrost und einen kleinen Windschutz entnehmen, Grillkohle hineinkippen, anzünden (verwende handelsübliche Anzünder), wenn alles fertig ist, Grillrost auflegen und grillen.

Der Grill fühlt sich durch das Edelstahl nicht nur wertig an - er ist es auch. Nach dem Grillen stelle ich keine Verformung des Metall fest - habe mich aber auch an „nur Kohle (KEINE Briketts!!)“ gehalten und es mit der Menge nicht übertrieben.

Und: auch nach dem Grillen lässt sich der Grill von Espit wunderbar reinigen. Edelstahl halt.

Einziger Kritik-Punkt...

Client d'Amazon: J'hésitais avec les barbecue très bon marché, sur lesquels j'étais horrifié de lire des commentaires de clients contents de leur achat et qui disaient pourtant que leur barbecue s'était déformé, que la peinture avait brûlé, et qu'il avait commencé à rouiller. Dites, si c'est pour avoir le même service qu'une grosse boîte de conserve, j'achète une boîte de conserve, pas un barbecue !
Avec le barbecue Esbit, on est dans un autre monde : acier inox (donc pas de peinture qui brûle, pas de rouille), tout est bien conçu, les ajustages sont précis et l'appareil ne se déforme pas. En le nettoyant bien on récupère l'appareil presque comme neuf, l'acier est juste un peu coloré (bleui) par la chaleur.
Ce barbecue est super pratique à l'usage : il chauffe bien toute la surface rectangulaire de la grille (à peu près la taille d'une feuille A4). On peut faire de la viande pour 3 à 4 personnes maximum en une seule fois ; pour deux personnes, on est au large. ; si on veut aussi des légumes grillés , l'astuce est de faire cuire d'abord les légumes, puis de les mettre de côté pendant que la viande cuit, et de redonner un coup de chaud aux légumes (au...

Fred Pickler: Highest quality, really like the way I can store several days of charcoal in the unit and all of it packs down nicely into a well made storage bag.. Used it to cook some German Sausages the first day I received it and thought I was back at the Wurst Kiosk in Downtown Hamburg Germany.It cooked six sausages perfectly, made me look like a Master Chef.I can say nothing bad about this stove, it is perfect for those of us that hate a heavy grill and having to drag the thing out of the garage every time we use it.Easy cleanup, no visible damage after use 9 times now.And it performed better than my large Charcoal Grill.Would like to see a small chimney fire starter as I hate using charcoal lighter.

Amazon Customer: Not going to write a lot about this stove. I like it it's easy to use and functions as advertised. The only thing I do not like are the sharp edges on the metal.

itsme: I purchased this in May. We love camping and travel by motorcycle with a small trailer behind us for all our gear. It is a great little grill. Perfect for the two of us. Folds down to a very small size. Easy to clean and uses very little charcoal. We just wish it had one more rack in the bottom to lay the charcoal on. It does need a little more air to circulate underneath the charcoal for quicker lighting. We just use the little Weber "pills" to get the charcoal going. Foil lining the bottom of the grill helps greatly with clean up, just be sure not to cover the holes on the sides.

Germanyguy: I was familiar with the small portable Esbit folding stove from my days in college in Germany. So I was excited to come across this larger grill version. It is the PERFECT dimensions for storing in my Sprinter van RV where every inch counts. And the grill surface is large enough for the kind of outdoor cooking we do on most trips - a quick steak or two, or maybe 4-6 burgers and/or hot dogs. Very pleased I finally found a portable grill that is easy to store and use, and clean up is pretty simple as well if you lay a sheet of aluminum foil below the coals. A one-use amount of coal for the next trip can even be stored in the stove!
Between the Esbit BBQ grill and my folding charcoal chimney, I now have a complete cooking solution that takes up almost no space.

Paxy: ...oder so ähnlich könnte der Werbespruch heißen.

Nachdem man ständig diese Tankstellen grills gekauft hat, für die Sommertage im Park usw. War ich's leid.
Auch das ständige rumschleppen von unhandlichen Grillmonstern, dann noch das nervige entsorgen der Kohle was vor Ort ja kaum geht, weil alle behälter voll sind...ich wars echt satt.

In der Stadt und mit dem Fahrrad, will ich einfach nichts klobiges neben mir her wuchten.

Also hatte ich die Wahl zwischen Son of Hibachi oder dem hier (alles andere kam nicht in Frage).

Beide bieten Taschen zum mitnehmen an auch für die Kohle, sind flott aufgestellt und wieder abgebaut, genau das richtige für leutchen wie mich, die mal ab und an Grillen wollen und nichts großes brauchen.

Ich habe mich am Ende für den Esbit Grill entschieden, weil dieser wohl etwas robuster zu sein schien als der besagte Son of Hibachi (Grillrost bricht, lässt sich nicht mehr richtig einklappen). Auch wenn sehr viele damit sehr zufrieden waren das ist mir zuviel Aufwand, neues material bestellen zu müssen usw. usw. dann lieber ohne Kamineffekt und anderem Schnick Schnack.

Johannes A.: Diesen Klappgrill von Esbit habe ich letztes Jahr gekauft. Nachdem er die letzte Grillsaison gut überstanden hat, freue ich mich schon, ihn heuer bald wieder zu benutzen.
Ich war lange auf der Suche nach dem perfekten transportablen Grill, sei es für Ausflüge an den See, oder fürs Camping. Es gibt sicher billigere und auch leichtere Griller für unterwegs, aber in puncto Handhabung, Transport, Reinigung und Grillleistung stellt der Esbit BBQ für mich das Beste dar, was ich bisher ausprobiert habe.

Das fängt an bei der unverwüstlichen Tasche im Innenraum, mit der man genau die richtige Menge Kohle für eine ausgedehnte Grill-Session gleich mit dem Grill transportieren kann. Auch die äußere Umhängetasche ist sehr praktisch, der Tragegurt könnte allerdings ruhig etwas gepolstert sein. Wenn man den mit Holzkohle gefüllten Grill bei einer längeren Wanderung auf der Schulter hängen hat, kann er mit der Zeit doch etwas schwer werden.
Aber für längere Touren gibt's ja noch kompaktere Produkte wie z.B. den "Grilliput".

Einmal ausgepackt, ist der Grill innerhalb von drei Minuten einsatzbereit. Die anschraubbare Bodenplatte verleiht 100%ige Stabilität,...

Anton: I bought the Esbit BBQ Box primarily for canoe camping trips with my fiancee. While we haven't taken it out in the canoe yet, I have had the opportunity to cook five meals with it.
I love this grill.
Set up is simple, there's enough space to cook a meal for two (a little creativity helps in arranging everything to fit), cleaning is super easy and it's smaller and lighter than my Cobb Grill.
The packaging is efficient (although my folding legs got a tiny bit bent in shipping: not enough to even worry about straightening), and the added touches of a charcoal bag and spare thumb screw are nice.
I might update this review when I've had a chance to try it with firewood as opposed to charcoal - I really like this idea as we can save on the amount of charcoal we pack in.
