C.M. & T.M.: Here's the deal with these cookies: my 11 year old daughter, who is a super picky eater and usually tries to skip breakfast, loves loves loves these and now eats one for breakfast every day without fuss. So because of that, they are the best cookies on the planet in my book. I asked her what her opinion is and she said "I love them, They are really yummy. They are easy to eat and easy to bring with me on the way to school. They taste really nice."

HOWEVER, I gotta be honest- I tried one of these "cookies" and I thought it was ... well, pretty rough stuff. I'm 42 years old, a vegetarian for the last 30 years, and I'm whole-grain obsessed and I've eaten every kind of whole grain snack that's been on the market. I eat quite a lot of food that's fairly bland so my bar was not set high.

I tried one of these to see if they would be a good replacement for the Z-Bar I snack on during the day. I don't know where "Double Chocolate Chunk" comes from, but the cookie I ate had not a single chunk in it, nor did it taste much like chocolate. It tasted sort of chocolate-y in a "vegetables and grains pureed and hidden in foods that is tinted to look like chocolate...

Think Fast Live Slow: Judged as COOKIE cookies, Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies would be heavy and dense. But they're not. They're an alternative to a bowl of oatmeal (and MUCH better than the almost-as-expensive Quaker Oats Breakfast Cookies, which to us are practically inedible). According to my wife, they're indispensable for anyone with hectic mornings who CANNOT skip breakfast. She says they last her about as well as a standard size bowl of oatmeal.

Based on reviews, we tried the Caramel Apple ones first. Heating benefits these more than the other varieties because it melts their little caramel "bombs". I don't like nuts, so I didn't try the Fruit & Nut ones. My wife says they're good too, but more along the lines of traditional hippie fare. They have a higher fat content than some flavors, as do the Double Chocolate Cherry. She would love to see these sour cherries make a solo appearance, without chocolate as a partner. The Gingerbread flavor is quite gingery, enough to overcome the inevitable molasses (which she doesn't care for). These last two flavors, along with Pumpkin Spice, are seasonal. She says of the three, she gives the Pumpkin Spice a very slight edge over...

Natasha Stryker: These cookies are a life saver in the morning! I am busy chasing my toddler around as soon as her tiny feet hit the floor when she gets out of bed. I take one of these out of the freezer and pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds while I chop up fruit for Tiny's breakfast. When she points at my breakfast asking for a bite, I feel good knowing these cookies aren't frankenfood and give her few pinches to share with her. They are a great way to start the day; paired with a cup of coffee, a bit of fruit and a glass of water -- I am totally full until lunch.

The banana walnut flavor is just like chewy, dense banana bread. The nuts are nice and crunchy and taste very fresh. These are such a deal at about a buck a cookie with S&S on amazon; the ingredients and consistant product quality make it money well spent.

I keep them in the freezer for freshness, they are really moist and chewy once you let them thaw or microwave. I put one on a saucer and nuke for 20-30 seconds from frozen solid, it turns out like its warm from the oven. I do not recommend keeping them in the fridge, baked goods and bread will get dried out if kept there.

UPDATE:I...
