D P, New Hampshire: Before I purchased these, I was sure to take my measurements. I looked at quite a few reviews too. I'm 5'9" and about 190 lbs; apple shaped older gal, with little to no rear-end. They would have been worn in the ocean (they would have come off in the wave action), or pool. I think an XL would have have been fine, perhaps would have looked better in pooch, rear and crotch area (terrible camel toe!).
They seem to be well made, but unfortunately I had to return them because they were just too big. Loved the print, and material. I may re-order to size down; will think on it, because they were a prime deal, and now more $.
