Hunnie '59: Since my dog chewed up my original cord this was a good replacement. It’s been close to a year and I can’t tell the difference between this cord and the original. I’ll update my review if anything changes.

L Baker: My kids knocked down our "Alexa," and the cord broke leaving part of itself still attached. After searching I was very happy to find this affordable replacement option. We have now been using it for a few weeks and I can tell no difference in the original. It works perfectly and I am very tempted to buy another to have a spare (in case my kids decide to get physical with Alexa again). If only all technology fixes were this easy.
Update: February 2018, 9 months later. This power adapter burned out randomly (could see burn marks on plug prongs). It did not cause any issues other than flipping the circuit breaker and did not damage the Echo. I think for the price it was still worth it overall and probably a fluke, but now Amazon offers the echo replacement plug for $19.99 so I just went ahead and replaced with that version. Had that version been more expensive I would have purchased this version again.

UPDATE: I TRIED THIS ADAPTOR ON MY FRIEND'S ECHO AND IT WORKS. I'M SORRY FOR JUDGING THIS ADAPTOR TOO QUICKLY. BUT IT JUST PROVES THAT THE MY ECHO UNIT IS REALLY DEFECTIVE INDEED AND NOT EVEN AN ADAPTOR CAN MAKE IT WORK WHICH MAKES ME REALLY SAD. MORE DISAPPOINTING IS AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT WON'T REPLACE MY DEFECTIVE ECHO UNIT.
