Zhi Zhu: My new kittens absolutely love this toy. I was a bit worried about the string breaking, but so far, even though the kittens (which are almost grown at this point) attack the string and chew on it, as well as attacking and pulling on the "squid", it has held up remarkably well. I'm a little surprised at how sturdy it is. It's easy to adjust how long you want the string to be by wrapping it more or less around the stick. Lots of extra string to use in case it does eventually break.

HanaMaru: Great, quality wool and sturdy - holds up to the most spirited claws and fangs! I also like how it has the adjustable string you can move as you're playing (meaning you can add or remove slack as you're playing)

Depending on the size of your cat, it may be better suited to fully grown cats, since the size of the squid body may be a little on the big side for little kittens.

So first thing im a human and I LOVE this toy so does my cat! Things I love about this toy, 1. The wooden stick feels so nice to hold and its much more durable than regular cat toys! 2. The thingy at the end is so cute I named him Benji short for Benjamin! 3. Its made out of durable, high quality yarn! 4. Its so colorful would recommend!

m-chan: ... it really scares my senior cat. Usually, he loves all "mousies" and teaser toys. This one immediately frightened him. I've been trying to get him gently familiar with it, and now he'll look at it and touch a tentacle; but then he runs from it. ): I don't think he likes the feel of it anymore than the look of it.

Every so often, I'll try again with "Mr. Squid," but I'd rather put the toy away if my cat doesn't warm up to it.

J. Gillespie: The media could not be loaded.  PROS: I love the all-natural construction. The wooden stick is quite solid and I have no worries about my kitty ingesting artificial stuff. The "string" is nice and long and the mouse a good size and weight. My cat loved to grab the mouse and try to tear out its guts with his hind legs. He is very strong and would not let go, allowing me to drag him around my hardwood floors if I pulled hard enough. He loves the balls and chases them around the kitchen where he can duck around the chair legs.

CONS: My cat loved to play with this toy, but within a month, the hard pulling had the mouse separated from the "string". We are still able to use the stick and "string" (I tied a knot on the end for weight), but he separated the mouse from the string fairly quickly. Once the mouse was separated, the felting started to loosen and the entire mouse fell...
