Dramm 16-Inch One Touch Rain Wand with Easy-to-Use Valve - Blue

User: I have several of these wands and find them exceptionally useful. That said, within several months (of mostly daily use), the begin to leak. This occurs either at the thumb valve or where the handle meets the wand (I actually had one where the wand came out of the handle). I use them around the home, so no heavy-use or commercial application that might over stress them.

They are rather pricey, so I hope Dramm can address these issues. Nice product, but in the end, a flawed design, IMO.

BTW, this issue occurs with the various lengths I've tried, but seems to be more problematic with the longer wands, which might suggest the additional stress at the wand/handle junction is a weak point in the design.

R.A.: I wish I had listened to the other reviews that complained about the lack of water pressure. The water is pouring out of the bottom of the head instead of spraying nicely when attached to the backyard hose. When used at the front of the house, it's fine but we only use that hose to wash the car so it's not useful. If you think you have weak water pressure where you will be using this product, skip it. It's not refundable once you've tried it (and how are you supposed to know it's not compatible with your setup if you can't try it??). Also, I ordered a green one and they sent me a red one, which is a small issue but still annoying.

Royal: I've never heard of Dramm, but I hoped their history would improve the quality. Garden hose heads are terribly made. The market is flooded with cheap ones. They don't even last till summer. We have an all-metal old-fashioned one that seems to be lasting, but the spray is way too hard for plants. This is great! We have high pressure, in fact, cheap hoses always split. But this really puts out a lot of water fast. It doesn't push or mat the plants down, despite high output. It was so much higher than the way I was squeaking out water that pots overflowed quickly. I had to change how I water pots. I use short bursts to each planter and round robin. This let the first blast wet the dirt and seep down. Dry dirt doesn't absorb water quickly. I love that I can water everything faster now.

I had my eye on the 1000-pin hole head with high flow, but now that I see what this 400-hole head does, I'm very happy. It is comfortable and light. I wish it was longer, maybe just 4-6" inches more would help in some spots. I know there is a longer one, but I felt that was too long and I would have to stand AWAY from pots to water.
