DIY Clock Repair Parts Kit - Battery Operated Clock Movement Mechanism with 2 Pairs of Short Hands

PT Prof: Made my own clock with a custom face plate. Drilled hole through and threaded this mechanism. Placed 3 hands as instructed and works great..... took less than 5min to assemble. Just be sure to not try and push the hand onto the stem too hard. Hands will go on with light pressure if aligned correctly over the stem.

Trustim: Unfortunately the sizing of the spindle was wrongly listed and does not fit. So we will be returning it for exchange or credit. Millimetres are critical in fine details. We asked for 15mm shaft and it is actually 13mm which means it won’t fit.

She passed before I was born so I never met her but the clock was always on our wall at my parents growing up and I loved the leaves. It hasn't ran in years. I mentioned to my parents one day how much I loved it and they said I could take it off the wall and have it. So I thought I might make it into a frame but decided I'd like it to work again. I found this set and now it's hanging on my wall. It was easy to understand and put together. A lot of the sets I found were for larger clock faces so i was happy when I found this and it was perfect!

Pete: Very simple battery powered (one AA) clock motor with three different hand options.

I purchased a skeleton clock for my wife many moons ago when she was collecting such things and it has worked pretty well from the day of purchase. Unfortunately over time for whatever reason the clock motor stopped working. As I had no idea what to do about that, it just sat in a cupboard for some time. I finally had a bit of inspiration this year and hunted down this unit on Amazon.

It was delivered fairly quickly so I didn't have to wait long to try and fix her clock. The shaft length is about the most important part when buying these items, so make sure whatever you order matches what you are replacing. If not, you are likely to have problems. Surprisingly, they are not all a uniform length.

Anyway, took the old one out, replaced it with this and I let my wife select which hands she wanted - which ended up being the curly ones in the middle of the promo image. With a little bit of fiddling they seat perfectly on the spindle and run round the clock face without hitting any of the furniture around the clock face. It's not wholly accurate and loses about a minute a day, so...
