Comments

Angela Pryor: This is a great book for all that want accurate and specific identifications and information for hundreds of seashells from the Gulf of Mexico and shores of Texas and Florida. A great reference book with wonderful photos, common and scientific names of all the marine mollusks.

Mary K. Grizzard: As a new “sheller” I pored through several NA sea shell guides as well as online sites, struggling to identify the shell pieces I’ve been finding on South Padre Island. My husband just bought me this book for my birthday and it is such a fantastic resource! Use the other guides and websites for each seashell’s particular natural history (very little is given in this book) but you will know exactly which mollusk to look up after identifying it in this wonderful encyclopedia.

Craig Godsoe: This book is for the specialist. It is well organized, with clear language describing various aspects of each mollusc - e.g., how common or rare it is; where it is typically found. The photographs are beautiful and well connected to the text.
