Frank Calberg: Takeaways from reading the book:

How is the geography of Ghana?
Page 12: The Southern part of Ghana is forested due to high rainfall, and the Northern part of the country is drier savanna. Further north and into Burkina Faso, the Sahara desert is slowly encroaching. The most mountainous area of Ghana is in the Eastern part of the country along the Togo border.

How is the political structure of Ghana?
Page 12: Ghana consists of 10 regions. Each region is subdivided into districts. There are 138 self-administrating districts.

What languages are spoken in Ghana?
- Page 16: About half of all Ghanaians come from the Akan tribe and speak varieties of Twi.
- Page 156: Ghana has over 50 different languages.
- Page 156: The national language of Ghana is English.
- Page 156: Because Ghana has several francophone neighbors, French is also heard.

How do people in Ghana get from A to B?
- Page 127: More and more people in Ghana have cars. As there are relatively few roads in Ghana, there's a problem with congestion and accidents.

Tammy S Brown: Price seemed high for a paperback.

Michael C.: Very informative. This is a beautiful culture. Like all cultures, it has a darker side. The good far outweighs the bad in my opinion. This little book seems to leave no stone unturned on Ghanaian culture. Would like to see an updated 2020 version of this book.

Amazon Customer: This book was written by someone who lived in Ghana and really knew the culture. From the details of trying to get a tro-tro, to the different types of cuisine, everything was on point. I read it cover to cover and would highly recommend it!

VERONICA LAWRENCE: It explains every eventuality that a tourist could encounter when they visit Ghana. I especially love the pre Modern and Modern history in the beginnings the book. I would recommend this book to any one interested in Africa and Ghana culture. The quick and a to the point understanding of the people.

Rachel Gain: Very informative and made me less nervous for my trip! Not all things aligned with my experiences, but we probably went to different regions, this still gave me a very good idea of what to expect and helped me to not be confused by things like shaking hands in a specific direction, etc

S. Greenland: I have been to Ghana and will be going back as well as taking others there, most will be first-timers. I found this book to be very accurate and I learned a lot of little things that will be helpful in the future. I will be using some of this book to educate the first-timers that will go to Ghana with me.

Mrs. J. Watkins: This is a great little book and very useful for travellers to Ghana. It gives real insight into the everyday life of people in Ghana. It also contains useful factual information about the country. I bought it after returning from a trip to Ghana and wished that I had bought it before going. It would have helped me to understand the people and their traditions. I am now using it in a school as a resource for the teachers, and others have commented on its usefulness. Worth buying for its price alone.
