Mark A. WelchMark A. Welch: This thing makes a miter saw so fast to work with. Everything is quick adjust and lock. Time saved at every turn. Some of the best money I have ever spent. Its pretty big but still light weight for its size. A child could assemble this thing. Its not super obvious that it comes with the quick release base but it does and it does add a lot of versatility and ease of use. The legs unfold exceptionally easily. The legs have no leveling ability but I did not find that to be an issue due to it have such wide stance.

James Bell: Slightly on the heavy side. But its sturdy. The brackets snap in really well and hold the saw tight. The front saw mout bolts were a bit of a PITA but its a one time thing.

NickNick: I've used several of these over the years, and I must say that dewalt have addressed most of the quirks and niggles in this latest iteration.

First of, it comes fully pre-assembled in the box, which is very useful, all you need to do is slide in the included adjustable mounts and bolt the included brackets to your saw and you're done, ready to go in minutes, literally!

As for the little improvements; the old style stand had leg locking pins you had to push in to release, now, they've added rear mounted levers that "pull-in" the pins for much easier handling (and avoiding the ol nipping at you fingertips); small improvement, huge difference! Also, the locking of the extension beams used to be done with an awkwardly placed knob, which has now been replaced by a lever that's much easier to operate, again, small improvements...

Overall very pleasantly surprised ; I was expecting the good ol' tried and true "built like a tank" stand, I actually got the "new and improved" version. Awesome. These are built to last, the heft and feel of the thing simply exudes quality and sturdiness. This is the one to get.

Slight addition: this thing is huge at over 6 feet...

J. Whiteside: I've used this miter stand quite a bit now and feel I have a pretty good feeling for it's strengths and shortcomings. I was doing a bit of a shop re-organization and refresh in 2013 and wanted to do something about my miter station, which was really just a simple shop table I'd built a few years ago. I was strongly considering building an enhanced miter station, but considered this as a relatively inexpensive option that might work as well. It just so happened that a pretty good sale came along for this unit and that was the decider right there...my material costs in a custom built stand would exceed the cost of a relatively ready-to-go solution. So I pulled the trigger.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the stand. Paired up with my DeWalt miter saw, I've cut short and long lengths quite extensively with it and have had few issues. I really like that it can extend quite a ways out there and will easily handle 12, 16 and even 20 foot lengths with ease. It's very sturdy and leaves a lot of open space that can be used otherwise, an important feature in my relatively compact wood shop where every cubic foot counts.
