mtn ridermtn rider: Not galvanized! The nails I received do not say "Galvanized" or "heavy duty", as pictured on the Amazon website. I've included a photo of what you'll receive and notice the change in description: no mention of "galvanized" and no mention of "heavy duty".
Here's the response I got from dewalt. In short, they are partially galvanized (electro, not hot dipped). The porter-cable nails say galvanized, but also on the box they say "for indoor use only" In any event, Amazon should update the description because it says they will resist rust, which is contrary to what Dewalt says.
Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for the confusion. Only nails ending in "G" suffix should be used outside as these are fully hot dipped galvanized. Although the wire for our other nails are electroplated-galvanized, the heads and points have exposed steel during the manufacturing process and will oxidize (rust) staining wood.
