I bought this drill after getting a bit stuck in a wall using my old drill, which only had 7 volts, and deciding I needed a more powerful one. I also like the idea of having a second battery pack because my old drill had its battery inside, with no light to indicate when it was finished charging. This drill did completely solve the problem of the bits getting stuck, and each battery pack lasted so long, I actually didn't need to switch it out even while installing hardware for five sets of blinds and hinges for two doors (one inside, one outside).
Drill Bits are not included, in case you're wondering, but I was able to purchase a set of bits from the same brand at my local Home Improvement store for a reasonable price. The light on the drill comes on automatically when you start drilling, whether or not it's dark, and it stays on for a little while afterwards.
I couldn't find a way to disable it, but it don't suppose it hurts anything. Also, because there are two red lights side by side on the charger, I charged a battery pack longer than necessary, expecting both lights to turn on when charging finished. The actual indicator is that the one...

Man, I wasn't happy to find how expensive little drills are lol. Anyway, I splurged for the brand name because it's kind of an investment, really and it sure has made my life a lot easier. Mounting shelves and coat hooks and putting together furniture and everything since we moved into our first home...if you're waivering because of the price, just pay the couple extra bucks. It's worth it.
It's lightweight, but sturdy. The battery seems to last forever, I don't think I've *had* to charge it once. I did put it on the charger after I had to drill a couple huge holes for anchors into the wall studs (didn't use a stud finder, found out halfway through the project I was mounting it right on top of a stud...oops!) just because I was really putting it to work for a solid hour and didn't want to get caught in the middle of something and run out of battery later. And the built in light was a godsend during that aforementioned project.

I'm no stranger to cordless drills. I have 3 Hitachi (now Metabo), 1 Makita hammer, and 1 Dewalt 999 Flexvolt hammer. I also have a boatload of corded drills, hammer drills, rotary hammers, and demo hammers. The Hitachi's are 22 years old and running strong with a lot of use. I didn't need this drill but it's smaller and lighter than the others.
I inherited a Dewalt Flexvolt 4"/6" angle grinder with 4 Flexvolt batteries worth over $400 so I thought I'd get some Dewalt tools. I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised.
The batteries came partially charged but weren't strong enough to do what I needed. Rather than waiting for one to charge I used one of my Flexvolt batteries. This drill will use Flexvolt batteries but I don't think you get the advantage of Flexvolt with this drill.
I drilled [8] 9/32" holes through both sides of 1/2" X 1/2" tube steel, 1/16" wall. I used a portable drill press and did not drill pilot holes. I also used vegetable oil as cutting oil because I couldn't find my cutting oil.
I laid hard on this drill on all 8 (really 16) holes and it took about 10 seconds to go through one side and another 10 seconds to get...

Rich H.: Good: Performs as advertised. Light and powerful. I don't ask a lot of cordless tools, but this one has effortlessly taken everything I've thrown at it. Batteries charge quickly and hold their charge between jobs, a big plus. Great value if you luck out and get it at a factory-sale price, which I did.
Bad: The keyless chuck doesn't grip as tightly as I'd prefer; have to wrench it pretty hard to keep the bit from spinning in the chuck when drilling sheet metal. The single-LED light could/should be brighter.
Bottom line: I'm impressed. One of the better cordless drills I've used; light-years better than my old Makita. Five stars.
