Isa: Completely in love with this book. It is Amazon paper but it is a good Amazon paper. Usually i hate gray scale, but within this book the gay scale is only on the kittens; the gray scale is light that it is super easy to work with and follow the kitten fur pattern and the shading… in bonus the illustrations are cute and allowed for background experimentation. For some image a color pallette is suggested and an sometime an example is provided so you can just follow the example without struggling for inspiration, really relaxing…. You cannot do wrong in buying this book!

It has such adorable pictures of kitties and little activities for her to do. So it’s great for 2 yo and can hold their attention for a little bit longer than usual ! Lol

ChristenaChristena: Did my first one tonight. I love these. Very beautiful pictures to color with lots of variety!! The artist also included some tips and tricks to coloring as well. My most favorite part was that she also shared other customer's coloring pages! Underneath the customer photos were what type of art media was used! I noticed a lot of Prismacolors and Faber Castell were used. This one I did with my Monarch! Can't wait to try the Prismacolors and Faber Castell next. I'll also use my Arteza and Amazon!! I hope there are more coloring books by this artist as I will gladly buy more!!

Place-to-be-free: das ist wirklich Oberhammer-Zuckersüß ... und ich bin erwachsen ;o))

Lauter kleine süße Kätzchen die Tässchen hocken und dabei einfach nur goldig aussehen....sehr schön auszumalen, nicht zu kompliziert und auch nicht so kleinteilig, das die Kids die Lust verlieren .... einfach wunderschön und spottbillig. Muss man mal so sagen!!!!

Eure Kleine(n) wünschen sich ein Kätzchen? Geht aber nicht? Damit macht Ihr auf jeden Fall Punkte! Versprochen!

Eva: Zuerst möchte ich sagen, dass die Abbildungen der Kätzchen sehr niedlich sind.
Positiv sind auch die Ausmaltipps, welche die Autorin auf den ersten Seiten zeigt.
Auch finde ich die bereits ausgemalten Bilder der Künstlerin eine kleine Stütze, wenn man nicht weiß, mit welchen Farben man beginnen möchte.
Wären dies alles, würde ich dem Buch 5 Sterne geben, doch gibt es auch ein paar negative Dinge, die ich ansprechen möchte:
1) Ich verstehe nicht, warum auf jeder Seite angegeben werden muss, dass die Bilder unter Copyright sind. Es würde vollkommen reichen, wenn dies auf der letzten Seite steht (was es auch tut). Ich habe bereits einige Malbücher ähnlicher Art daheim und bei keinem steht dies auf jeder Seite.
2) Neben den ausgemalten Abbildungen der Künstlerin, werden die gleichen Bilder nochmals gezeigt, wie sie von anderen Personen ausgemalt worden sind. Dies ist keine schlechte Idee, da man dadurch sehen kann, wie sich ein Bild durch verschiedene Farben ändert. Doch sind diese Bilder nicht nur einmal, sondern auch ein zweites Mal zu sehen. Und zwar direkt unter dem auszumalenden Bild. Auf der Seite wird dann rechts unten das ausgemalte Bild, links...

iiiireaderiiiireader: The media could not be loaded.  I really like the designs in this book. The artist, Kayomi Harai is new to me but I will certainly be looking for her books after purchasing the two that are now available. The kittens in the book are designed in what seems to be a hybrid of line drawing and grayscale as much of the cat fur details are done in shades of gray. The kittens are adorable and range from those in teacups to fairy kittens, a kitten in bath and many other cute poses.

In my first project, I used gray marker which almost completely obscured the shading so I will be careful with my use of gray in the future and use darker colors on the shading prior to using an all-over color to begin with.

My only issue with the book has to do with the publishing. Designs Originals has, this year, begun “shrinking” a number of the designs to include coloring information on the design page. It's been disappointing to me as it renders to the designs harder to color by making the details too small. In this book, ten of the designs are reduced. I like the coloring information but think it could be limited to the colored sample pages or to a page of its own rather than...
