Yvonne Hunt: I don't know what is going on in this, but I am fully invested. The art is crazy good and the story telling is good as well. I'm looking forward to the next volume and I hope it contains some answers for me. I pray that this is not drawn on for a long long time. I pray that this story has an actual and satisfying ending.

Tracy Michael Herring: Great writing, rather mesmerizing in its way. The mixture of deep state conspiracy, a smattering of actual truth, and mythical freely pull you in.
The artwork is a bit over the top at times; I see the intention behind this, but it harms rather than helps the story at some points. This abstract/high concept art crap could have seriously been dialed back and then better assisted the narrative.
Not to say that this isn’t worth the read… I gave it 5 Stars because the tale itself is well told and very riveting.

Matt: The Department of Truth: The End of the World is the first trade volume of this series, collecting issues 1-5. I don’t want to get into spoilers, but I enjoyed seeing a world building element I was familiar with in fantasy be applied to conspiracy theories. I also loved the art. It’s really stunning! I almost want to buy a print edition in addition to my Kindle/ComiXology edition because it’s so beautiful. I found the plot and concept compelling and can’t wait to read volume 2.

Joshua, Connecticut: Overall, I thought the total effect--the juxtaposition of images and text were interesting; however, even after I read it twice, I was still confused about some of the storylines and how one episode connected to another. Also, I am not entirely clear whose side the author is taking. Is the author saying that right-wing conspiracies are bad for the country or that they are good? And if they are good, why? Is he satirizing conspiracy theories or is he implying that some might be real, but that the government (in this series) wants to keep people thinking they are conspiracies, yet the government knows they are real? I haven't decided if I will get the second book yet. I have to read the first one again. I don't want to end up supporting an author who thinks conspiracy theories are real and beneficial.

Efbieye: It's a solid start for a series. Goes overboard with the conspiracy but still enough to keep the pace and attention. Will see how it turns out.
The product was good. Proper binding, flap and spine intact.
The art is water colour and lends a hazy smoky sinister feel to it. Works with the type of story they're going for.

Saurabh Saroha: I like conspiracy theories and found this story to be really engaging and full of twists. The artwork is not like regular graphic novels and goes well with the storyline. Only thing I dislike is that while vol 1 is decently priced, vol 2 and 3 are not.

Fractured Jaw: This is a difficult book to review because just as it really gets going, it ends. But I like the direction it is headed. The writing is solid and the artwork is gripping. The point it appears to want to make is that conspiracy theories can be dangerous. There's truth to that. But there's far too much fact in many of them to simply chalk it all up to an overactive imagination. So that danger exists in this story to want to think conspiracy theory is all nonsense (and this story seems to place the blame for all conspiracy theories entirely on the "right wing" which is shortsighted). But this quibble aside, the book is compelling. Where it will lead is up in the air. This could be a great beginning to an excellent story, or it could fall apart under its own gravity. The future will decide.

Itai Neter: The art style is a bit confusing and hard to understand at times, but it's a great read and is so different, highly recommended!
