Norm in ITNorm in IT: The media could not be loaded.  The unit seemed to be ok until the water level dropped below the seam in the housing. See the video. It would not move any water 2 or 3 inches from the floor of the spa. It leaked the water through the housing.

John N: I bought both the 1/4 hp and the 1 hp pumps, I use them primarily for transferring rain water and watering our garden. The description of what these pumps are and do is spot on. Good product at a reasonable price. I use a wireless remote control switch to turn them on and off.

CSCS: A Sump pump is suppose to be able to sit in water a start to pump when the level rises. this pump can not do that. As the metal that is used is Iron Metal. it will rust in 1 or 2 days of sitting in water. when you first get it it works great and pumps fast. but you have to take it out of the water right away and it will dry off from the heat of the pump. But i would never depend on it for a sump pump in my Basement. when price is to good to be true. it usually is.

Mark Harper: So far it works great really moves a lot of water, I used it to empty my above ground pool and it took only a few hours to move 7,000 gallons of water of course along with this pump I had a 1/2 horse running along with it but wow I didn't have to wait long and decent price a lot cheaper than many of the brick and morter stores.

Wyoming: Great little pump. It does not remove as much water as I'd like and you need a few inches for it to start suction, but if you have a pool to drain or your basement has standing water in it, this little guy will work. You do have all the connection to mount a garden hose to it, but flow rates will be reduced. If you're looking to move a lot of water very quickly, you will want to purchase the largest diameter hose you can get that fits the pump.

Normal Guy: I pumped 1000 gallons of water from my pool with this unit. You plug it in and drop it to the bottom. The flow rate was far less than the 2,000 gal/hr advertised, but that was due to me using a 50-foot garden hose extension, which greatly restricts the flow. To get close to the advertised rate, you will need a wider and shorter hose. I know this bc if you completely remove the hose, the unit will shoot a 2-3 inch column of water eight to ten feet straight up. The float is tricky but protects the unit from running dry (automatic turn-off). Another issue is the unit draws water from the bottom but is designed with a three-inch platform on the bottom. That means the unit can not pump up the last four inches or so of water from the pool or whatever you are pumping from. The professional-grade pool pumps will go down to 1-2 inches. That additional two inches can be a lot of water in some circumstances. For example, if you are pumping water from an 800 sf flooded basement, two inches can be about 1,000 gallons of water. On the other hand, in other cases, the last few inches are not essential. Verdict: the unit seems to be a good value. However, time will tell, as there were some reports...

Paul T. McMahon: Only negative is the float. It does not turn on until the water level is very much over the top of the pump, nearly at the top of the sump well. Then it runs until only partially empty. It works fine, but I find now that I prefer the older "float" type switch which is adjustable and turns on at about 75% of the well's capacity.
