Mr TeeGemini: My schnauzer broke out in the heredity skin condition and used this. It helped to pull off the scabs as well as calming down her skin. And this was after the first use.

Courtney GallantCourtney Gallant: Please please please do NOT use this stuff on your fur babies! We tried this crap to help with our dogs itchy skin and this is what this stuff did to him! $2000 later in vet bills and we still cannot stabilize him.

ScouterScouter: It’s been 10 days today and the mange is almost gone. I used a combination of DermaPet" Benzoyl Peroxide Plus Shampoo (DermaBenSS); Davis Benzoyl Peroxide Medicated Dog & Cat Shampoo, Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiparasitic and Antiseborrheic Medicated Shampoo for Dogs, and Nu-Stock. I’ll outline what I did in a second.

Some background: My 10 year old boxer contracted what looked to be demodectic mange. She got bumps on her skin, some large, some smaller. They would start leaking pus, then crust over, and when they scabs came off, she’d have a dark, calloused patch of bald skin. She wasn’t terribly itchy. And she didn’t get stinky. The sores were mostly on her back. Granted, this wasn’t the worst case of mange, by a longshot.

She’d recently had two procedures under general anesthesia and I wasn’t keen on the idea of subjecting her toxic dips and other potentially harmful meds, especially given her age. So first I tried the Listerine & baby oil route. Didn’t really help. Then I switched to Borax, hydrogen peroxide and water. Annabelle: Got for my 16 pound fawn pug who has really sensitive skin. She was missing chunks of fur, red irradiated skin, biting her paws, legs, back area to the point she was bleeding. The condition came on all of a sudden I wasn't that concerned at first because I thought it was just a allergy flair up that happens around this time of year. Their was no change in her diet so that was what I thought just seasonal allergies. My sister volunteers at a animal shelter and she lives with me so maybe it was something that she brought home.
