Paul S.: I bought these for my 7 y/o son's first year of football. They had mixed reviews and durability seemed to be the common theme among the poor reviews. However, I took a gamble because they were the least expensive gloves.
My son likes them. They fit him well and says they are comfortable. They also lasted 2 months before the pattern part of the sticky palm peeled off of 1 finger of the glove. (We had 3 practices and 1 game per week. I washed the gloves on the delicate cycle and hung to dry 2 times a week.) Even though the finger peeled off, they are still sticky and they still work.
I guess I could see bigger kids or adults being harder on the gloves than my 55 lbs. kid. Maybe that has something to do with it? If you want high quality, then buy a pair of the "name brand" gloves. As with most things, you get what you pay for. Maybe we just got lucky?
Overall, we got our money's worth out of these gloves.
