There is an excellent YouTube video by Just Vlad (search Creality Ender 3 max unboxing & setup). As of August 2022 it should be the first video. This is also a great video so you can spend 45 minutes and decide if this is right for you. He takes you through the whole printer and explains some parts and why they are good, complete detailed setup, calibration, shows you how to download CURA (software) and finally print. I watched the video and paused so I could follow along. My printer needed a lot of adjusting as some wheels were way to tight. Getting the bed level while being the right distance from the print head was the hardest part. My first print was the 20 mm calibration cube and all sides were 20.0mm. I have had some failed prints, but that was due to not reading the directions from the creators on thingyverse (free downloads of 3d models). You need to look at the description to see if the project needs Rafts or supports. You add them in CURA before you slice it and save to the microSD card. I also had some issues with prints popping off at 80%...

Mark Guertin:
These are very cheaply made machines. Yes they have some reasonable parts in them, but honestly they are not a great experience for beginners. I've had no end of issues with this unit. The bed (not the glass) is WAY out of level, i.e. there are several dips in the metal bed under the glass itself, no amount of changing the four corner springs will help that. I've probably spent almost as much as the full value of this printer installing upgrades with it, and it prints WORSE now than it did from the factory (which is not saying much). I did reach out to their support, but because I had upgraded the hot end I was told that they could not help me under warranty, even if I reinstalled the original components. If you want a good experience that's mostly drama-free avoid these cheap i3 type machines and save up your pennies to get yourself a Prusa.
EDIT: I've changed my review down to a one star. In going back and forth with this seller's support it made me realize just how much work I did on this printer in order to try and get it in a reasonably functional state. I really suggest that you avoid these Creality i3 based machines (Ender 3) and get...

Ted H.: This is my first printer and I had absolutely no clue about these things, but wanted a decent printer to learn on so I didn’t have to buy another after I got the hang of it and wanted bigger. The printer was packaged very well, simple to put together. There were a few screws that were installed by manufacturer that needed adjustment. The bed isn’t that bad to level once you get the hang of it, and trust me it’s worth taking your time to adjust bed after every print, or at least check it. I have a few issues with adhesion at first, but that goes back to the bed leveling. There are a few upgrades I’m in the process of making after learning more about the printer. I’ll list them at the end. The printer is not what I’d consider noisy, but others in reviews have commented on it being loud. Not sure what they expect but it has several fans and motors that are moving. I do have one fan that’s annoying on the hotend that occasionally makes a whining noise, but I just lightly touch it and it seems to center itself and stops making the noise. As I said in the beginning I’m still new and learning, but I have been very impressed with the quality of the prints...

What I like about this machine is that it is an Ender 3 just bigger and with some awesome upgrades. I’m familiar with this machine because I already have an Ender 3 pro. I like the price point it’s cheaper than the cr-10. I like O can use the same parts on my Ender 3 pro so if anything breaks or I need to replace I already have parts for it. I’m happy with this purchase.
I’m happier to have bought a smaller Ender 3 pro learned on it and moved up to this one.

Pat D:
It's a decent printer with tons of support available with a huge online community.
A few notes:
Don't trust whoever pre-assembled some of the printer. Use the included tools and loosen and properly re-tighten every screw and wheel on the printer. On my printer some wheels were too tight, others loose and the gantry had right side slop when raising and lowering. An hours work re-tightning everything properly made a HUGE difference in the printer's precision. Lots of youtube videos on this topic, it's time well spent.
The bed is huge so it's a bit harder to level than smaller printer (more room for error). Also in many copies of this printer the Z switch is a tad too high so the bed springs are not tight enough. As the z-switch height is not adjustable, I just added thick washers between the springs and the plate to make them a bit tighter, it made a good difference in bed height variations.
Also, when checked with an IR thermometer, the bed temperature is consistently 4-5°C lower than reported on screen so I adjust accordingly in Cura (important for adhesion when printing with PETG).
Overall I am very satisfied with this...

Save yourself the money because this is the worst printer I ever purchase I am throwing away more plastic then I ever did before out of days of printing I only had one successful print and that was my first print I was not satisfied with the quality of the print now I can't even get a base to print without messing up I am very disappointed with this printer so do your research before you dropped this much money on a giant paper.
Here is an update on this printer after hours of tinkering with it I think I finally figured it out I am very satisfied with the print qualities I am getting now it was very stressful and annoying I am finally getting the prince I want it on the skill I needed them I will say it it's worth the money I just got to be more patient at times and stop and Rewind to figure out what I am doing wrong

Would have been nice to know that the V4.2.2 board has two TMC2208 on X and Y, and A4988 on Z and E for those who wish to build their own firmware. It does not say that anywhere, and I pulled the heat sinks to figure it out. In my opinion, this should be explicitly stated somewhere as not everyone will have the know how to check. Word on the streets is that there are other stepper driver configurations out there so that might not be true for you.
My other huge gripe is that it is exceptionally difficult to find information out there on how to set up thing sfor the Ender 3 Max, owing to the name essentially looking at every Ender 3 model out there as "Max" isn't going to help you whittle down results. This is even in the event that you use all the tricks to modify your search query to be specific.
Cura does not have a default setting set up for the Max so you have to use Pro and modify the build plate size which doesn't really work great either.
Otherwise, works great. Easy to assemble. Prints are as good as you can make them based on your slicer set up.

Shopaholic503:
If you've been around 3D printers for a while, you know the Creality name and this printer delivers, again. The Ender 3 MAX is not much different than the Ender 3 Pro except for the bigger print bed. In my case, it allows me to print larger batches of prints so I don't have to be around to remove prints and restart the printer and I can just go about my day.
This printer does have the upgraded TMC2208 steppers, a filament runout sensor, larger leveling knobs and the newer hotend assembly that Creality has been using lately. The dual print cooling fan setup is also a nice to have, but running them both at full speed does get noticeable, not that you'll usually need to.
The interface on this printer is the same as the familiar Ender 3 with the rotary knob. I'm assuming a V2 with a touch screen will show up sometime this year, but who knows.
As far as bed leveling - this is where it gets fun! I haven't installed it yet, but the printer does officially support a BLTouch. There are screw holes for the sensor and Creality does have an official firmware which supports auto leveling by way of a BLTouch. I imagine the process to be easy from...

J. Higby: The media could not be loaded. Bought a Fulament magnetic bed that allowed my to place some clear packaging tape in the middle of the bed. This allowed me to get my full print surface and now I just need to run some test before Im confident in the bed.
(Update) This printer has ran great and just like my other tools that cost way more than this, it needed some set up and tuning before providing desired results. The glass bed has a bad warp that has reduced my print space to about a 6" x 6" space compared to the advertised 11" x 11".
***Assembly went fast. No missing parts.
My 3 Max wouldnt go home. A few hours in and I found if i put them on the limiting switches it would work. Then I tried a print and my head drove straight off the edge and my filament was being pulled in and out of the nozzle. My filament motor (X) and my printer head motor (E) were switched...
