Kindle Customer: So it a amazing plot idea, and with the cultural bits make it a fun read. More of comedy then a crime

Kindle-klant: This is an awesome read!
I was hooked from the start and had to keep reading to see what trouble Meddy and her mother and aunts would land in next. This is a hilarious and fun story and I snorted several times while reading.
Meddy's mother and aunts totally steal the show, but Meddy herself is a fun character as well. At the start of the book there are a few chapters with flashbacks into Meddy's past interspersed with the present, so you learn about her history with her college love.
There was one plot twist I saw coming, but with a book like this that doesn't matter as it is the weird situations and the bickering aunties that are most important to enjoy this very entertaining read.
You bet I'll keep an eye out for the next book, because I need more.

Sneha Pathak: What a fun ride this book was! Dial A for Aunties is a kind of dark comedy where elements of humour and slapstick comedy combine with a murder, the urgent need ro hide the dead body and a girl (once again) meets boy scenerio which leads to some really weird, fun and comic situations. Throw in a grand Chinese-Indonesian wedding; typically south Asian parents and relatives; a plot to steal wedding valuables and voila! You are set for a hillarious ride where, by the end, almost all becomes hunky dory once again.
This one had me laughing hard at so many places and i could empathise with the protagonist who is 'filial' and feels the urge to obey her mother and her aunties at every cost. In some ways then, it also becomes a coming of age fun story. The title is a clear homage to Dial M for Murder, but the two couldn't have been more different.
If you have watched the British film Death at a Funeral, you can imagine what i mean when i say that the book gave me similar vibes. If you haven't, well, go ahead and watch the film and read this book.
P.S. Please don't search for logic here

Samantha VBSamantha VB: Firstly, this book is not my usual genre, so I've taken that into account review and rating wise. I wanted to give contemporary fiction a try and the plot to this one sounded so fun. It really didn't dissapoint.
I immediately warmed to the characters. They're just so real, so easy to see as you read. They're vivid and true and I would love to know them.
The plot itself was a little less full than I was hoping. It won't be spoiling it to say that the main character kills her blind date as its written in the blurb, and the way she does it, the circumstances surrounding it, are gripping. The cover up was fun and full of problems, but the plot quickly becomes a romcom with the murder being a side plot, which is what I found disappointing.
However, I was dying to see it all resolved because I loved every character. And it was definitely a fun ride getting there. I kept finding opportunities for it to go in a darker direction but that's my love of horror getting in the way I think.
If you're looking for a light, fun read that will have you literally laughing out loud (seriously, I woke my husband up reading in bed because I was laughing so hard) then this one...

Carol L. Dulik: This book was delightful as well as the second book in series. This series should be made into a series for TV. With the right character actors it would be a hit. Hilarious!
