charles peterson: I bought this to replace my Bushnell Neo Ghost which died after several years of excellent service. I chose this over the current Bushnell's because the new Bushnell's are larger than the old ones plus this purports to show more hazards.

Regrettably, while the Bushnell’s are too large and clunky to suit me, this Garmin is a bit too small for my taste.. Fits great in my pocket, but i am afraid i am going to lose it, and it is almost too small to p-touch my contact info onto.

As for functionality, this device certainly provides the basics of front/middle/back distances, is easy enough to read (even without my readers☹️) and seems to have excellent battery life. Other than wishing it was slightly larger, my only issue so far is that navigating the more detailed functions is not exactly intuitively obvious for a non-techie boomer like me. I’m sure i will conquer it in time, but certainly not right out of the box.

KAMJOE: Have used this 20+ times at a dozen courses over the past 6 months. Charges easily and battery life is very good. I compare this to my old Golf Buddy and it is much better. In fact, my good friend bought a brand new Golf Buddy and we compare accuracy all the time. His Golf Buddy yardage has been off several times. The unit is easy to use and has many features if needed. I do like the easy scoring feature after each hole. I am a 15 handicapper and just needed something accurate to get me front, center and back locations. I have checked the accuracy and it is great.
I carry this in my pocket and it has never had to reset. So far so good.

Gene M: I am a 70 year old 18 handicap from the senior tees.. I walk the course when I play. I just need to know the distance to the middle of the green. This is compact, I carry it in my pocket. One of my golf buddies who rides (he is 80) clips his to the strap that holds his bag on the cart. I play three munis here in Houston, it has all of them in its program. One of my golf partners has a laser range finder, and this Garmin comes up with the same yardage as the laser when the pin is in the middle of the green. I an not tech savvy, but I had no problem getting this device set up. When its about 5 minutes before tee time, I turn it on, it finds the course, and it is ready to go at tee time. Its charge easily makes it through a round, I always recharge it after a round, so I don't know if a charge will last two rounds. NOTE: after you recharge it and take it off the charger, be sure you turn it off again or the battery will start running down. I turn it off after the round, but putting it on the charger seems to turn it on again, so you need to turn it off again after you take it off the charger.

CC: Good product apart from the weird way it charges that is not explained in the instruction manual and might drive you crazy or make you think you have a defective product. Just remember: it will turn itself on and not let you turn it off as long as it's plugged into the charger. Trying to turn it off while charging just resets it. Then when it's done charging, you both have to undo the charger AND manually turn it off, or it will drain the battery overnight. None of this is explained in the manual, and it's not like any other chargeable product works that you might be used to (i.e. simply plug in to charge, unplug to stop charging). Other than that, it's accurate and easy to use. Unfortunately, it only lasted me a couple rounds because I clipped it onto a thing in the middle of the golf cart so both my friend and I could see it, and of course I forgot it when I turned the cart in, so somebody out there has a brand new S10. Oh well.

CRJCRJ: I like the distance to front-center-back function, and I am using the scoring with stats feature. Those were the functions I most wanted. And I can't play golf with a watch on, so this unit was the best choice for me.

The manual is just OK, they leave out some pretty useful information in my view. For example, they never explain how to get back to the distance to green page after you use moving the pin, measure a shot, layup/dogleg - I assume it's the back button, but I did that once last week and somehow missed the screens to enter scoring data for that hole (had to enter manually on Garmin Connect when I got home). And if you get off a hole while playing, I'm not sure how to get back to the right hole and resume distance info. I assume the up down keys and then OK, but not sure if that worked or not.

And the Amazon page clearly shows a G10 screen with yards for Driver, 5-iron, Sand Wedge - 2nd image on my page. I have no idea how to get to that info, it's not in either manual that I can find and I haven't seen it on my G10.

And finally, Garmin Connect is a little unintuitive. And it would be helpful to know where scorecards are stored - on the G10 (and only...
