Amazon Customer: Absolutely the best winter coat I have ever owned. The Canadian winter is brutal but I'm never cold in this one (and I'm always cold). I only wear a light blouse underneath and maybe a thin cardigan. The lenght is perfect because it doesn't go past mid thighs so you can walk normally and it won't get muddy. Great purchase.

Marie: There are two things I don't like about this jacket, but keeping the 5 stars because it's my favorite that I've found so far. This is a warm, sturdy well made winter coat. I love the material. There is a little band on the back so you can bring the waist in to give you shape.
Only cons is that the sleeves are too long, they go to my fingertips. I'm average height.
The other is that the hood doesn't have a drawstring and will fall off easily. I bought a beanie to make sure my head stays warm since I can't count on the hood.
I LOVE that the fur is removable... I'm not a big fan of the fur lining for my own personal style, but it looks great with or without!
Plenty of pockets to stash whatever I need..... I don't need a purse when I have this on.
Overall a really nice jacket. This was a lot of money for me but I'm expecting this to last me a lot of years.

V. Williams: I ordered a black coat, but received a blue or royal blue coat. I wanted a blue coat so it was a happy mistake. The coat is very warm in temps below freezing. I live in the Western NY area so we get very low temps here. Initially I struggled with the zipper (and thought about returning it), but with time (about a week) I became more familiar with the zipper and now I have no problems. The pockets are very deep and warm. The hood is very large and protects from the wind. I do not like that the faux fur does not go all the way around the collar, but this is more of a preference issue. It has the omni-heat lining, which is fine, but unfortunately over time (1-2 years) this will fade with wear. I had a similar lining on another columbia jacket and now it is gone after many years.

I have grown accustomed to the sewn in hand protectors and they do keep the tops of my hands warm. They are a little annoying when you do not want to wear them or you need to wash your hands (they get wet).The fit was perfect and I wear a small. I am about 5' 3'' and weigh about 130lbs. The length of the coat on me goes past my knees. This is a down coat so you will have the feathers on your clothing...

shopper: This coat is amazing in some ways - the reflective lining inside the coat keeps me so warm, I love the fleece-lined collar that zips all the way up to my nose - I don't even need a scarf, the furry hood is soft and very warm, the sleeves have the thumb holes to keep wind and cold out. The reason I didn't give the coat 5 stars is that it is more of a navy blue than a true black, and I was looking for a black coat. Also, the fit is bigger than I expected. I should've ordered a smaller size, but the weather was so cold the weekend I received this that I didn't have days to return and re-order in the smaller size. For the price of the coat I wish I loved it a bit more, but it definitely is keeping me warm this week in the 9 degree cold!

Elizabeth Bailey: I really like how it fits and looks, and especially love that the hood is large enough to actually fit over my head even with a ponytail (so many hoods are too small). It really is very warm and very well made, it feels sturdy and I am hoping it will last a nice long time (given the price). Here's hoping I can keep my figure to stay in it. ;)
I only have two complaints, neither of which would dissuade me from recommending it to others:
One minor complaint is that I wish there were a few more pockets. It's got two on the sides, and one 'secret' one inside, but I do enjoy myself some pockets. The more serious complaint is that the zipper can be a bit of a challenge. It starts very low, and is a double-zipper so you can unzip the bottom to let yourself walk easier, but the two zipper heads do not interlock or anything, so it amounts to some pretty awkward fumbling when I try to zip it up every time. The interlocking fabric bits aren't really strong enough to hold it closed on their own, so there isn't a quick way to close it, just the zip. I imagine I'll get more familiar and quick with it eventually, but right now it's been a bit irritating.

LilianaLiliana: Very warm jacket. No need to wear more layers underneath. I live in Chicago so we have rough cold days. However I was really disappointed to the color of the jacket. According to the discription it says that the jacket is black and also by looking at the picture it looks black. I could've return it but decided not too. I got this for $240 and now looking at the price of $279 decided to keep it.. the jacket looked blue/gray and my coworkers said that it looks green/gray.. overall the jacket does the job to warm you up but it's definitely not black.
