AmyAmy: I bought this tent for a canoe camping trip. I have backpacking tents that cost a heck of a lot more money but my daughter was going to be sharing the tent with me so I wanted something more spacious so that we could both comfortably fit with all of our gear as well. I don't know that the darkroom technology really impacted the temperature inside the tent too much, but it was definitely nice that it kept the light out in the mornings. All in all the tent seems pretty durable and is easy to set up. There was plenty enough space for my daughter and I, a full sized air mattress that we shared and all of our gear. Without the air mattress I think we could have comfortably slept a third person in the tent, though 4 would be very tight. We had no issues with condensation on the inside walls of the tent over the 5 days we camped, there was actually no condensation at all, even on the few wet/damp/hot days we had. It rained heavily all day one of the days we camped and while the tent did pretty well in the rain, there was water seeping through the seams in the four corners where the bathtub connects to the fabric of the tent. CJ Rosendahl: I literally hate tent camping. For so many reasons. One, I used to have a VW camper & set up was so easy, then when it finally died I got a great SUV but had to resort to tent camping to keep my outdoor life alive. Coming from vanlife. I just hated everything about tent camping. I made a bed in my SUV & said goodbye to tent camping. Two, last time I went camping, I slept in the SUV & my friend slept in a tent. She was hot, had to wake up at the crack dawn because of sun beating on tent. And the tent setup was so frustrating, I just about threw the thing into the fire. Well, we are back to wanting to get out in nature after the pandemic & tent camping is back on the table. So, I researched tents with the necessary criteria being: the tent has to be blackout, I have to be able to stand up in it, and the set up has to be such that I don't blow a fuse doing it. And the tent can't weigh 400lbs & be so large in the folded up state that I need a trailer to accommodate it. I ordered & sent back several tents before I got this one. And this is what I discovered through the process: one, a tent weighing upwards of 20 lbs or more is just too friggin'...

Lee: So here's goes........

1. The 6 person tent fits 4 adult comfortably not 6 as advertised

2. If you pull the rainfly out using the guide ropes the light gets in and so does ventilation - I prefer this because its plenty dark enough we all slept in till 8am - don't let reviews shade you that it will be two dark in the day time its not with the window / door open

3. quick to setup less than 10 minutes on first attempt

4. looks good

5. good headroom

put it up in 40-50mph winds + rain in back garden with some cover from fence
the rainfly pole came out during the night and we all woke up when gusts felt like the roof was going to take off definitely not a tent for the wind , however all dry inside.

Summary decent tent decent size decent darkness easy ro setup looks good - a 10x10ft would have been the sweet spot and a rear window would give it 5 stars for me

Amazon Customer: I’ve had this tent just over a year. I went camping for Labor Day weekend, and experienced my first storm in it. The wind was strong, I’m not sure the MPH, but it snapped the poles, and ripped the nylon straps that hold the hooks that connect it to the tent. Needless to say, the tent was trashed when the storm was done.

That being said. I’ve enjoyed using it for the past year in clear weather to light rain. It did get a little warm inside, but with a battery powered fan hanging in there, it was cool enough to sleep in on a humid summer night.

Marie D.: It was easy up, but needed two people to do so. Spacious, lots of ventilation. The seam piping on the rain fly ripped while I was staking it out the first and only time I used it, though it still was able to be staked. Coleman responded well to my complaint and is replacing the whole tent. It rained pretty hard the second night but the tent stayed dry inside. Definitely not a 4 season tent.. but would be a great summer/beach tent as it has lots of ventilation and the dark tent feature worked well. Don’t even try to get it back into the carry bag - an exercise I total frustration. I ended up stuffing the whole thing, carry bag and all, into a large trash bag. Overall a decent tent for the money.

CarkeysCarkeys: It’s a great and spacious tent. I would not call it truly dark inside, but it’s dark enough that when you close your eyes, you couldn’t tell the difference. It effectively blocks out piercing sunlight and gives you a chance to sleep off that epic camping hangover from too many beers around the fire the night before. I’ve used it 3 times so far and setup is very easy. Putting it away is a bit more difficult. I don’t really like the way the poles are attached to one side of the fabric, as it limits the ways you can roll it up to put away. It’s doable though with some careful folding. Overall I love it and hope it holds up over time.
