ootsma: I used the purple stickers to label books in an elementary classroom. On their own, they might be fine, but the purple is very dark, almost blackish. You can see the color in the sunlight, but under fluorescent light, it's harder to discern. It doesn't work well with black sharpie markers and the kids don't see it as purple either. It sticks well to books and taking it off takes some effort, so that's a plus. However, I'm buying another purple that is lighter and more obvious for my purpose.

Amazon Customer: I use them to label my medicine bottles.
Doesn't stick very well to silicone jars but still does the job.
Make sure you write on it AFTER the sticker is affixed - smudges easily.
Great price to value. I do recommend for light use, bought more than enough, can't imagine a scenario where I would have to buy more but would if the opportunity presents itself.
