KP: This is a very well-made, soft, easy to put on, hand-knit sweater. My Cockapoo pup is 26lbs., we purchased the Medium and it fits perfectly and the soft grey/beige colour is wonderful with his apricot coloured coat. Bring on the cold weather!

Brittaney B.: I ordered this late in the spring so my dog has only tried it on and not worn it outside yet. It is thick, and really nice quality. The armholes are a nice size, and well spaced, and I found that the underbelly part was cut away enough he won't urinate on it. Also, he's a little longer, I'd say about 12 in, and this came down and covered his butt in a way that most sweaters don't without being too big in the body. I have an 8 lb Yorkie for reference.

I hand washed it so that there would be no chemicals or anything on it & it came out nicely. I've had acrylic sweaters in the past that were cute but they just pill up and look terrible very quickly. I live in Toronto and this is going to provide a nice layer of warmth in winter. Mon chien est très chic ❤️

C SweeneyC Sweeney: I was debating on size, bought extra large for my American retreiver lab. He is 92 pounds a slim jim. Fits him like a glove he let's me put it on and wags his tail. Not many reviews here for the big dogs. High end looking knit which stretches, human and dog approved!

R H WildsR H Wilds: I have a smaller pit bull, 40# or so. I ordered according to her measurements and it fit initially, until it stretched after a day or so and then it was apparent she needed a smaller size, in both arms and neck opening, so I ordered a large instead of XL. (The first 3 pics are of the larger sweater. The last 2 are of the smaller one, fresh from posat office which fits more snug, and does not go down the back past the tail, which the larger one did)

Only "complaint" at all, is that the chest area could be more narrow, so as not to have the sweater material over the shoulders and impeding front leg movement.

If this smaller one also seems to impede front legs a bit, I will snip open the leg top to allow the front legs free movement, fold into the chest and then sew it down. Otherwise this is a really great sweater, well designed and knitted. Really nice. Great neutral color. Very smart looking. My pitty loves wearing it(just bows her head for it, and feet slide rite in) and her back always feels warm as toast.

Will update this review after a trial with the smaller size and it's front leg opening issue.

A reader in MA: This is my dog's second Chilly Dog sweater, because her original one needed a wash, it's winter already, the floors are cold, and she's old and shivers without it. This one is equally gorgeous, made again of natural wool. It's less stretchy than her 5-year-old sweater, but I'm sure it was less stretchy when new, too. These are wonderful, quality sweaters, lofty, soft and warm, real wool that's not been overly processed, way way warmer than knit acrylic, or fleece. After 5 years my dog's first one is even softer but has never even needed to be mended.

But unlike her original Boyfriend Sweater, bought in 2015, which smelled only of sheep, this one has a stubborn but slight chemical odor, which I presume is a moth-deterrant. I hoped it would disappear by washing in Eucalan but it didn't. Probably baby shampoo would take it out completely, but the weather's too stormy now to wash it again--no sun to lay it in to dry. I doubt most buyers would be as bothered by it. (I have to turn the world upside down now to find the really old old-fashioned formula mothballs, which I'm out of, so I probably have moths now.)

If she and I live long enough for her to need more than two...

Megan Glanville: Great Dog Sweater- the only one I've found made of 100% wool to keep my little pups cozy! The small fits both my terrier mixes (one is 11lbs and the other is 14lb). Oddly, I had first ordered an xs and a small, but the quality of the xs was completely different (the knitting was super loose and hodge podge- looked a lot like someone just learning to knit had made it and did a real amateur job of it, especially in comparison with the beautiful, tightly knit size small sweater!). The xs also didn't fit my smaller dog well (the tummy part only covered about 3" whereas the size small covers whole underside while still leaving room near genitals for easy and non messy elimination. I'm not sure what the deal is or why the two sizes appeared so different. The xs looked/felt so crummy in comparison to the size small, I honestly double checked to see if it was the same brand! I called amazon and, as usual they were fantastic about allowing me to exchange for another small. Now I have 2 size smalls, I am very happy. This is a quality dog sweater, very cute/ chic looking with the cable knit pattern, simple to put on, and best of all, will keep my fur babies warm when outside during cooler...
