Totally incomprehensible. The diagrams are difficult to read and sometimes plain wrong. The strategy makes sense but the steps are hard to follow even for an adult, let alone a child. This will demotivate them 100% guaranteed.

I'm quite happy with this book. It's written in an easy to understand way, and I especially like the pictures that were drawn. The pictures really helped me understand what to do. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn how to solve a Rubik's Cube.

I loved this book, it's quite entertaining and easy to follow. The main character really does the trick, kids connect with him and follow the book to 'help him'. I tried to solve the Rubik's cube myself before my son and I was able to do it without problems, luckily I didn't find any of the issues that other reviews point out so I really recommend this book!

I bought this book for my kids and I to learn how to solve a Rubik's Cube. One of my son's studied it and practiced for a couple of weeks. He was able to solve a Rubik's Cube in about 10 minutes. He was even able to figure out a correction in the book. When I tried it, I was able to solve it in about 15-20 minutes the first time around. Absolutely love this book! Highly recommend if you want to learn how to solve a Rubik's Cube.

My 9 yo said it was dificult to understand. I tried to read it and it was nearly impenetrable. He stuck with it enough to get the bottom layer solved. By that time it was too late and he had caught the bug. If he had really pressed on with it, this book might have gotten him to the solution in about a month. But we looked at the Rubik's site and found a PDF for download there which was clearer in both explanation and illustration and $0 to download. As this was an effort directed toward kids (the cheesy "turn my top" POV of the cube itself was absolutely grating), I have to give it a star. And because it gave him the confidence to get started on learning (rather than just guessing or flailing), I give it another star. But I can't recommend it.

This book is easy to read for kids and makes solving a cube really accessible. I've been into cubes but had no real way to approach my nephew about it without making it sound difficult so got him this book and a cube for Christmas. He loved it and is now almost to the point he can solve a whole cube by himself after only a couple of weeks.
