DeBella: Great Expectations is a classic novel that everyone should read. I assigned this book as work for my AP Literature students over the summer. The themes make for easy discussion and allow for great student lead seminars. I highly recommend this read; it follows Pip on his journey from adolescents to adulthood. Along the way, he goes through many hardships until he ultimately tries to reach his great expectation.

Lesley Rodriguez: I LOVE Dickens and this book is not as popular as David Copperfield or Oliver Twist but it's very under appreciated. It's a wonderful tale dealing with changes and growing up and so many things. I'm glad I came across this and that I bought it without thinking about it twice. It's a must read!

ST: Had to buy a great expectation book for my English class and even though I find these kinds of books boring, this book had a few bits of excitement. The book came in perfect condition but could of had more space for notes.

Chad Hightower: This was an OK read, not great. Only book of his I had read previously was A Christmas Carol, which was nice. The book deals with issues of social class and ambition as seen through the eyes of the main character Pip. The story follows him from a boy to a middle aged man. I would almost classify this as a chick book, since their is also a romantic subplot. Pip is in love with a women named Estella, who is considered beautiful but very cold and hard. Have to admit, haven't seen any of the movie versions of this, might have to. Sometimes books translate better in movies then reading. Still, think I will read some more Charles Dickens books, this book hasn't put me off. The writing style isn't to hard to understand.

CW: Don't buy this book for school students as it's twice as big as standard paperback books, and therefore bulky/heavy too. Also, it's printed by Amazon, so looks like a homemade cheap photocopy of a book and is more expensive than the classic publisher versions as well. I bought 2 copies in the same order for GCSE use and they both have completely different front covers, why? Can't be bothered to return them and realise I should have noticed the actual size in the book spec further down the screen.
