Edward T.: Works great, sharp images but apart from the focus nob..all other adjustments are very stiff to move. No discernable colour fringe at low end of zoom but increased with zoom level (tolerable). Expected as it does not have APO glass ...which would add a grand or two to the price. DEFINITELY a heavy duty tripod (no $60 job) is an absolute necessity. Solid as a rock on my Manfrotto Pro. Great "quick grab" when no time to set up the telescope.

R or C Driskill:
Many years ago I bought my wife a Celestron C-90 spotting scope (equivalent to a straight 1000mm, f11 lens) with a aluminum Celestron case and additional eye pieces as one of her Christmas gifts (it was a lot more back then, then it is now). Since it has held up so well, and being that the Celestron brand has been around so long, I thought I would give these binoculars a try. I purchased them for $108.53 flat via Amazon Prime, versus the full retail price (MSRP) of $169.95. The general 'street price' is around $125 - $130.
To start with, if you don't know optics, this set has a extremely small field of view (FoV), so be warned that they must be used with a tripod or other fix placement device. Being within the "Ultra-narrow FoV" range (denoted as 1 to 3 degrees), at 1.25 degrees this set will only have a FoV of 65.45 feet in diameter at 1,000 yards (1 degree of Arc equals 52.35987755 feet at 1,000 yards). Because the FoV is so small, and the binoculars are so long, the points of viewing interest will need to be fairly stationary or you may find it rather difficult to track. Additionally, you should also understand that these are not actually astronomical...

A Person With An Opinion: I received these binoculars from Amazon, unpackaged them and immediately noticed that they seems to be very sturdy in design. There are a few things that I have questions in concerns with long term use. The mechanism that is used for zooming leaves me curious about how well it will hold up to over time, but consider that a limited life time warranty would probably cover any issues with the mechanism. The initial night of the unpacking, it was cloudy and I only managed to run some test on a street lamp outside to test the clarity of the optics. They seems to be fairly sharp at 25x and develop a minimal dulling of the image at 125x. Overall, I was pleased with the performance comparing it with a Orion 10-25x42mm monocular that I had purchased a few years back. The second night, the sky was clearer and I managed to view Jupiter and three moons clearly at 25x. I also increased the magnification to 125x, and seemed to continue to get a pretty sharp image with minimal dulling of the edges of Jupiter. The binoculars were not able to produce any surface detail on Jupiter. I will have to consider that this might be due to many different reasons outside of the...

Tim: These binoculars are not only well made, they are a great value. I have had them now for about 2 months. I use them for both celestial, and terrestrial viewing. I am a train photographer, and these binoculars come in handy when out and about on a photo shoot. They allow me to see long distances, and get an idea of what kind of train that headlight in the distance is. I do recommend, however, that one uses a tripod when viewing. The binoculars are not that heavy, but if you try to hold them up for too long, they are hard to hold steady. The view through the lens is clear, crisp, and has very little distortion. For celestial viewing, they do a great job. I focused them on the Orion Nebula, and it was easily viewed in these binoculars. Terrestrial viewing is very good as well. The zoom function is smooth, but the field of view narrows considerably at 100x, but, the view is still good. Overall, I am very pleased with this product. I have also bought a pair of Celestron 15x70 binoculars from Amazon as well. I also own a Celestron Astro Master Telescope. Overall, Celestron makes a great product, and these binoculars are testimony to that. This product is a...
