kishan: The story is ok. Introduces Ganesh in simply way so it works I suppose, but could have been better.

Nilima MohiteNilima Mohite: The simple story line. The clear explanation of the stories without giving it a religious color. The words and language is perfect for children.
The other factors about the festival are also highlighted. I liked how Lal Baugh cha Raja is introduced. As it is an important part of Ganesh Festival in Mumbai.
The illustrations are lovely. In this book too, my daughter was hunting for Chintu in each page. It was fun spotting him :)
Subtle integration of gender neutral concepts like Grandmother getting the idol home and Grandfather decorating and getting the house ready for Ganpati.
I liked the Info recap, Pronunciation guide, Info zoom.

PT: This is the story of one of the best known and most worshipped deities in Hinduism. The book is an educational picture book for young Hindu faith children, a study of culture for others. Well written with nice illustrations.

Deepak: My children absolutely love this series, so the New book didn’t disappoint us either. This is a great addition to our Multicultural book collection. My children always loved the Ganesh Chaturthi festival and had celebrated the festival several times but the book describes beautifully how the celebration takes place in Mumbai India. They got to know about the proper tradition through this book. Also they are very much interested in Lezim dance now, I am very happy that after reading these diverse books their interest in Indian culture and festivals is growing. Books like Maya and Neel adventure series will definitely help them taking pride in their own culture. So we are excitedly waiting for the next book.

Aartee Badianib: We absolutely love this series and this one is just as great as the other adventures. We love how the festival itself is described through the eyes of Maya and Neel but they also have Info Zooms which go into more detail depending on the age/attention span of your child. There were also a few details included such as the type of dance and instruments that are used for Ganesh Utsav. It’s been awesome to have these books as tools to help my boys learn more about their culture!
