Themed photo shoot. I only do Horror makeup during the month of October since no longer working full time as a pro artist so I have to buy what I need every year at this time to keep it fresh. I chose this kit and used scar wax for the first time (I usually create these effects ahead of time in latex but was not really given prep time for this and didn’t actually meet the models until the day of the shoot). Although it allows to sculpt immediately on the spot which was excellent, the wax didn’t stay on the skin for longer than a
Couple of hours and after that it seemed nothing would hold it on. Colors were great and mixing them to get the desired color needed was easy. *Tip- If you like to mix your own colors pick up some paint pallets to mix as this kit doesn’t provide that tool.
Colors were opaque and to achieve the desired realistic pale skin look I mixed some tinted moisturizer in the makeup to thin it out.
Do buy the setting powder unless you want this makeup to look greasy on (especially for male skin as it tends to be more on the oily side).

Hayley: The colours are pretty weak, need a few coats for a vibrant colour. Due to it being oil based, it will smudge a lot unless you buy extra things to coat it (powders, sprays) and it will smudge/rub off around eyelids due to heat.

Carli Glicken: Scar Wax was hard but once you scoop a little out it warms up pretty quickly and is ready to use! The paints are really nice (though gold and silver need more layers it’s almost like a highlighter) tools are nice and there’s more than enough scab blood. Wish there was maybe a tube of liquid blood as well but this isn’t bad for the price!
